Tokyo Embassy is a strange place. We walked from our hotel next door to the Embassy, we saw a security guard before getting to the front gate, he checked our interview letter...and gave us a folder containing international phone call advertisement?? Capitalism at its finest.
As most professional establishments in Japan, everyone had been professional and polite since we walked into the gate. No one was yelling at people to intimidate others like TSA/CBP officers at some airports in the US. As soon as we walked into the office building, Embassy staff greeted us with a smile and instructed us on the next steps. Another staff then handed us a number for our case.
Tokyo Embassy designates Mondays to process immigrant visa interviews, naturally everyone was there for the same reason. Our interview time was at 8:30, however, it seems to be merely a time slot the Embassy assigns to applicants. I got there on time and it took me 3 hours until I came out from the building.
You will be called 3 times ; hand in documents, take fingerprints and interview.
Before you're called the first time, you need to place required documents in order.
After taking fingerprints, they give you a leaflet about DV to read while waiting for the last step.
---My interview questions---
Who is petitioning you? / How did you guys meet? / When did you guys start dating? / Have you had any US visa before? / When did you get married? / Do you guys have any children together?
After these questions, the officer said my visa has been approved and it'll be delivered within 1 week.
It was easier than I expected. I'm sure as long as you have everything they need and you know about your spouse like everyone does, the visa is yours! Good luck!

The intervier was really nice and smiling.
I was only asked couple questions and finished in 10 to 15min.
What’s his name?
Where is he from?
Where did you meet?
We’re yiu guys dating at the time?
Have you met his family?
What about him?
He was telling me some jokes and smiling.

The person who interviewed me was very nice and friendly.
Nothing difficult questions.
Qs were:
My fiance's name
What he does for living
how we met
which state my fiance is from
when and where we are going to have wedding
I am so glad the interviewer was very friendly
