Our appointment was scheduled for 10:00AM on June 7, 2018 in Kingston, JA.

Before we arrived, I had quickly took a look at the interview letter and realized the appointment time said 10:00AM EST and I panicked. For those of us from the US, EST is currently an hour ahead of Jamaica time, so I was pretty anxious being that we were arriving at 8:30AM, JA time. Once we got to the embassy, the guards confirmed that the appointment time was for JA time and not US time, so if anyone from the US attending with their fiancé(e) or spouse, please don't panic, the time on the interview appointment letter is for JA time only.

Okay, so when we arrived, there was a lager group of people standing on the other side of the road (the road somewhat looks like a boulevard with a slender sidewalk path and this is where the group stood), from the embassy and there was another large line of people in front of the embassy. The guards reviewed our interview appointment letter ... read complete review

- Journey:
I traveled to Kingston from 6 am and arrived at the embassy at 9:50 am but only because I had to take a chartered vehicle to the premises. There was an insane amount of traffic that lasted for close to an hour on the last stretch of the highway before actually getting into the city.

-Approaching and Entering The Embassy:
When I arrived I had no items on me except for the small box containing all of the documents I needed. There are persons across the street from the embassy that were selling supplies such as pens, chairs, etc as well as services to hold items such as electronic devices, liquid items, etc. As I approached the top chained gate (the entrance down from the front of the line... read complete review

So I arrived at the embassy approx 9am and they had us stand across the street while they sorted out the 9/9:30am people. They called us over at 9:30 and proceeded to line us up and check for pics, ds-160 and confirmation letter. We went through security and was checked again for the same documentation then sent inside the building. I sat for a hour before being fingerprinted and Documents requested like certificate of impediment, W2 and I-134 plus visa pics then I was told to sit again. The consul agent called me up to the window 15mins later and asked my fiancées name, job description, if I was ever in the States, how we met ? And if we had any children? He also asked if we made any wedding plans. He then said congratulations, handed me a document on domestic abuse and proceeded to cancel my B1 visa. Overall I feel satisfied with the treatment.
