I'm going to give them a '4' because, although they were really hard to get hold of on the phone, during the interview they were REALLY nice and friendly. They were also not very demanding about questions and wanting to see loads of evidence. Of everything my fiance' brought with him, the officer only wanted to see his police records, the affadavits of support and some photos. The officer asked my fiance' three questions -- Where did you meet your fiancee? When did you first meet? and When was the last time you saw each other? Then he wished my fiance' good luck and told him to come back later in the afternoon to pick up the visa!
Here's the thing though: there were lots of people there and everyone except my fiance' and three other people were given their passports (with visas) and sealed brown evelopes and sent on their way. My fiance' was asked to return the next morning because the consulate was closing for the day and the office in Washington didn't have enoug... read complete review

The low grade reflects the Consulate's services before the medical exam and interview (for which it deserves a 0) and the two days spent in Naples for the medical exam and interview (for which it deserves 4).
Before the interview: I followed the instructions provided on the Consulate website to get in touch with them, i.e. I sent emails and faxes but got no answer for more than 6 weeks. Then I started calling their regular number (forget the 899, they know nothing and all they do is just watching a computer screen) and after having bounced a couple of times I was told that they did receive my case and all I needed to do was to send them an email (another one!!!) in order to schedule an interview asap. So I did, but after other 2 weeks of silence I called back...this time, with my huge surprise, I was transferred to the Visa office where I was informed that I didn't show up at the medical and interview scheduled in March for which they have sent me earlier in Feb a letter... read complete review

The Consulate in Naples, Italy is a story of its own. I should mention first that they are super nice and thoughtful when you go to the interview. However, they are Italian, and therefore really good at being slow. It is harder than hell getting ahold of someone at the embassy by phone; there are certain hours that you must call. I emailed them maybe 4 times and recieved one response. If you fax them like they request, you might get an answer. For the imterview they gave us two dates. The first day to be a medical interview and the second day to be the actual visa interview. As it turns out they did both interviews in the same day. They told him that he was approved but that he would have to come back to the embassy the next day to pick up his passport, visa included. Overall it was a good experience. My fiance's biggest complaint was that he had to get two shots. Poor him! IN BOCCA DEL LUPO!!

I voted average. It has been always very difficult to get in touch with them and also they are not helpful and it's so hard to get any kind of information. I think this is one of the most busy and disorganized consulates!
But if you stress them a lot at the end you get what you need but it's very stressfull!
At the interview anyhow everybody was nice and friendly. You just have to have all your documents in order as they are written on the checklist to avoid waste of time and be prepared to wait for......hours!
I am happy that I don't have to deal with them anymore!
