US Consulate, Naples
Tues., 07/09/2010
8:30 AM, arrival at the fortress. Appointment was 9:00 o’clock. There was a queue, majority were the same persons who did the medical the day before. Guard was only letting one person/one family component at a time. Once inside the gate applicants and bags were screened by detectors and told to leave electronic gadgets at the guards’ post. Me and my daughter were handed a number, 23.
Instructed to proceed right ahead to the first floor. There were applicants already seated and waiting for their turn. The clock went on… tik tak tik tak…t’was about eleven when my number and name was called. I approached the window partitioned by a glass and said my courtesies. The consular employee(a petite, serious looking but nice and well mannered black) initially talked to me in Italian, asked for the forms and supporting documents. Then all of a sudden she was conversing to me in English. She asked fo... read complete review

Journey to Naples
We are living in Rome, so we went to Naples by train. Stayed in a beautiful little B&B, http://www.ladimoradinettuno.it, extremely close to the Consulate, it took us about 10 minutes to walk there. The B&B is super clean and the staff are very welcoming! The area is also very safe and the B&B is right next to the metro! Make time to visit the city, Naples is absolutely beautiful! As for the visa process:
Day one: The medical check-up was really smooth. Not many people there with us. All you need to bring is your vaccine list, one passport sized photo, interview letter and your passport. Be ready to spend some time waiting, we were there for about 3 hours. Afterwards, we went to the Consulate for the fingerprints and that was really fast.
Day two: Arrived at the Consulate around 7:15, not really necessary to arrive early since no one is at the gate at that time. We went in and spoke first with a... read complete review

I went to Naples on Sept. 13. My interview was for Sept the 15. Therefore my medical was on the 14th of Sept. When I arrived to the ISTITUTO VARELLI I gave my passport to the lady and she said to wait in the yellow chairs. After I waited for 40 mins I got called to take my blood. After teh blood was taken I went to an other room where the doctor checked my vacc. list and he told me that I was going to need to get two shots. I had to pay for the visit and the two shots in that room. In total it was about 215 euros. Then I had to wait again for about 15 mins. then I had to get my xray on my chest. After that I waited again for 110 mins. After that I went to another room where there was another doctor who asked my some questions, then get a general check up with my weight and height then finally I got the two shots I needed. Then I left and headed to the cosulate to get my fingerprints taken. I waited there for about an hour. They asked my for a photo and likely I had one on me. >>> so j... read complete review
