Our medical and interview went pretty smooth. My wife needed only two vaccinations and the medical took less than 1 1/2 hours. The interview was a lot easier than expected. It took about one hour in total. After insuring we had all the documents we were then called up for the interview. I was told I couldn't speak during interview and my wife was asked how we met and what i did for work and were we would live when she got to the U.S. The hardest part was waiting for the rain to let up to get back to the car.

My wife had no problems here because we were well prepared with all documents. The medical exam was speedy, as was the interview process. The only questions they asked were "Where are you going to live?" and "What does your husband do?". She brought plenty of documentation, which was not requested. She returned home and received her passport/visa within 5 days. A smooth process.

Hi Everyone,
This is my review for filing for a CR-1 visa for my spouse. I am the petitioner and US citizen and my husband is an Italian citizen and is the beneficiary. We went through this process without an attorney. I was also with him in Italy a majority of this process so we could be together. It took us over a year to enter the US together from the first date we sent our petition at USCIS.
USCIS & NVC is the worst part of this whole process with all the waiting and stress. BUT believe it or not the medical and interview is a breeze!
Here is my timeline to date for this case:
USCIS PROCESS:
Sent i-130: October 4th, 2013
NOA1: October 8th, 2013
NOA2: March 26, 2014
NVC & CONSULATE PROCESS:
Received case from USCIS: April 29th, 2014
Received Case Number: May 29th, 2014
Received DS-261/AOS Bill: June 3rd, 2014
Paid AOS: June 3rd, 2014
