I would like to share my interview experience.
My case was expedited because NVC made several mistakes and Naples Consulate agreed to expedite it. It took us 15 months in total.
The medical went very fast I was there by 7:30 am and I finished at 9:30am. They took blood, urine, chest X-ray and they check the vaccinations : tethanus and measles. They didn't care about others (I did all the vaccination possible)
Interview: Officers are very polite and professional. They asked my birth certificate, police clearance, tax return, W2 and marriage certificate
After that they called me at the window again after checking the documents and they asked me when and where we got married. She looked at some pictures and she said 'how romantic' My husband was next to me and she asked him what profession had and where he is living: he answered and she asked me if I went visit him, and if I like that place! I replied yes. She asked me what job I will be app... read complete review

The process takes two days.
The first day is for the medical. I went there at 7.00 am and I was the second to get in. Once inside they call people with the letter of the consulate (C). They take you to take a blood and an urine test. Next thing is chest rays and a general evaluation of the health: sight, height and weight, abdomen and so on.
The second day is at the consulate. I was there at 8. I had to leave all the electronic devices at the entrance. A men asked me for all the documents listed in packet 3. After this process I was called by the CO, a really nice and polite lady, who asked me questions about our relationship, his work and his family. After this she told me I got approved and after two days the passport was ready for the pickup.

We arrived an hour early and were the first ones in line, but many others arrived shortly after. They don't let you in until they open (or even later as promptness is not a priority always in Italy so prepare for the weather. Then we waited in a smallish upper level room with a fair amount of chairs. Many people were on their cell phones while waiting, which seemed to not be a problem. The interviewers generally seemed to be polite and the interviews seemed to not be too stressful for anyone. Generally it was a relaxed atmosphere.

April 4th 2017 - Medical Examination:
I showed up at 7.25 at Istituto Varelli. I got a ticket to wait in line, letter C for the consulate. When it was my turn a woman at the desk asked for my passport and address in Italy. She then guided me to a corridor and told me to sit on the chair and wait until they called my name. When the nurse called me she took a blood test (I didn't even feel it, and it was my first blood test!) and then gave me a cup, asked me to go to the toilet to urinate in it (syphilis test). After that the same woman who brought me to the corridor, guided me to the x ray section. There they ask you to take off your shirt and bra (if you wear a top without wires in it they let you keep it on) and they take the chest x rays. The same woman will guide you downstairs and this is the longest part, mainly because two old (average age 75) but super nice men are working there. When it's finally your turn they will ask for 4 photographs, your Italian and U.S. ad... read complete review
