The lead-up to the interview was plagued by misinformation, resulting in double payments that were never reimbursed. I received inaccurate information during my medical examination, leading to the need for clarification. However, contacting the embassy proved nearly impossible, as calls directed me to a call center with non-English-speaking personnel who were unfamiliar with the K1 visa process. Emails went unanswered, and there were inconsistencies in communication among fellow K1 visa applicants I spoke with. This aspect of the experience requires significant improvement. Shout out to Lalaloopsy for their assistance during the times when the Consulate's support was lacking.
My K1 visa interview at the US Consulate in Dublin was an eventful experience, marked by rainy weather and a lengthy wait in line. I met another applicant, and together, we navigated the process. After passing through security, a staff member meticulously reviewed my documents, followed by a two-hou... read complete review

The interview was really easy nothing to be worried about. The consular officer only asked me three questions.
1.when did you meet your spouse?
2.where did you meet your spouse?
3.when are you planning to move to the USA?
Unfortunately I got a 221g asking for a joint sponsor. We thought my wife's job would be sufficient as her income was going to continue when we move, but she will be working remotely for an Irish company and not paying us taxes. They were quick to check the documents after I uploaded them and approve me which was nice.
I'm giving the consulate a low score however as their communication is abysmal, not answering phone calls or emails. Leaving me worrying for months on end trying to figure things out for myself.

Arrived at the embassy at 8:10 am and the security allowed me to go in. I also met another K-1 filer with the same appointment time who was allowed to go in at 07:50am.

Upon entering, you will be queueing with other visa applicants. There’s a lot of waiting and not enough chairs so come prepared with your comfortable shoes.
0840 am - Initial Check
A representative will take all the required documents on the checklist from you to prepare it for the Consular Officer during interview. Just go by everything on the list provided by the embassy.
They also took my passport and stamped my valid tourist visa with CWOP (Cancelled Without Prejudice). This actually broke my heart a little but he assured me that he had to do that because I am now applying for a different type of visa.

Questions asked:
-How did you meet your fiancé?
-What does he do for a living? ... read complete review

Appointment at 0745hrs but got in around 0815hrs
Be weather ready!! No shaded area outside embassy if it rains
Airport-like security upon checking in
**SECURITY WILL CHECK PHOTOS. IF ITS NOT THE PROPER ONE, THEY WILL SEND YOU TO THE NEAREST SHOP THAT HAS A PHOTO SERVICES**
Do not bring any laptop. Security box fits only for a phone.
After security, I headed for another queue inside the embassy
After 20 min wait, I was called to submit documents and finger prints taken
>original police cert- MAKE SURE ALL NAMES IN PASSPORT ARE INCLUDED. Other applicants had to be told that day to get a new police cert which will delay processing
>original marriage cert
>original birth cert
>2X2 PHOTOS- one applicant goy through security but was sent off by the lady checking the documents coz he has an old photo. MAKE SURE PHOTOS ARE LESS THAN 6 MONTHS OLD. Got my photos taken again a month before interview to be sure.

Waiting took forever. Reviews are spot on. Definitely depends on who you get on what they ask for.
Oddly, we were specifically requested -printed- photos of us together. So it just really depends on your officer/reviewer person.
