Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Went for my spousal interview with my wife, on the day they would not let her in with me because they said they have no room for family members. Citizen services to the left and visas to the right, only 6 or 7 seats. I was very surprised how small it is, they run a queue with poles and webbing and thankfully it was quiet when I was there. Called to to the window for document check, immediately told I would not get approval on the day because there was no expiry date on my medical. Then told to have a seat, (No seats) so I stood for about an hour waiting to be called to the two Windows for the interview stage. It's so small and there is no privacy, one family were being interviewed and the female officer kept screaming through the intercom do you not speak English. Everyone waiting looked very uncomfortable and embarrassed for the family, we could hear every word as it echoed through the room.

Around an hour wait and it was my turn, no privacy and I found the officer sli... read complete review

Very prompt. Four steps.
1) Entering Consulate. Straightforward, like airport security. Recommend taking as few electronics / belongings with you to simplify for yourself.
2) Check in at window, then wait to be called.
3) Initial screening at window. Arrange relevant docs. Note, police certs must have your full name as on your passport.
4) Interview with officer. Very straightforward. Answer honestly. Approval decision there & then if all ok. Had to get my police cert updated & return by mail the following day. Now being processed.

Review Topic: General Review

The interview in Dublin was efficient and straight forward.

I would recommend making sure you have all your paperwork very clearly labelled and easy to find. Make 2 copies of everything so that you can give them a copy when asked.

***Please note that you need US FORMAT PASSPORT PHOTOS. These are different to Irish format photos - even if the machines you see around Ireland say "suitable for visa". I had to leave the embassy and get photos taken and return.

Overall, the staff were very polite and efficient. Simple questions were asked of me and I believe the paperwork and presentation of it meant there was very little information outstanding. Interview was completed in 5 mins and whole process took about 45 mins. javascript:emoticon('')

Review Topic: K1 Visa

I had my interview yesterday in Dublin at 12.45. I recommend going up to the window and saying what you are there for and what time as I was waited in the queue for a bit when I could have gone in a bit earlier.

I was in and out in less than 50 minutes and it was quite busy in there with j1 visa applicants.

The room itself to the right of the building where you go for the k1 is pretty small. Kind of like going to the tax office, it's quite open and everyone can hear everything. One end is for Americans getting passports etc and the other end is for visas.

Most of the documents listed weren't needed. Just passport, confirmation of payment and interview, 2 pictures, sealed medical, birth cert and copy(original given back to me), police cert, i-134, work letter, bank statement and 2016 tax return. All other documents relating to i134 were given back to us.

The women at the window taking the documents was really nice and complimen... read complete review

Review Topic: Direct Consular Filing

Interview completed! My husband's name wasn't on the list but he has his proof of appointment so they took care of him (remember to print out confirmation of appointment/carrier). Submitted I-864 (they mentioned something about W2 but we had pay stubs back to September as well as tax transcripts so it was ok). They appreciated the extra copies of papers we had, saved them time and was able to move the interview along faster. Paid fee. And then asked a couple questions (how we met, what my parents do, and who is supporting us). No "proof" needed. And then said that he was approved! And that was it! 1.5 hours max. They commented saying that our process was the quickest they've seen since our NOA2 was mid December. Expecting our passport back this weekend and hoping to fly this Sunday. Such a relief. So much weight lifted off our shoulders. Reunited soon enough!
