Arrived in Ankara from USA Wed 4pm Nov-24, fiance arrived from Iran 9pm same date. Waited for her at the airport, 70 TL to hotel Bestwestern2000. Went to Doctor Next day 10:30 am. Waited 2hrs till all done, x-ray, blood, shots, $180. Got results same day 5 pm. Enjoyed Ankara till Nov-30. Nice weather. Paid $131 at Fortis, later learned of increased fee to $350. Arrived at Embassy, 5min walk from hotel, 8am. got in 8:30, security check, nice people. I went in with my fiance. Document checks, paid extra money inside, fingerprints. Interview in 1hr. few questions from my fiance about me. Then the Blue Slip with no specific requirement. Advised to check the online list in 7-10 days. Expected Visa on the spot, but such is life. Case was cleared in exactly 10 days. Now, waiting to go to Ankara for the VISA. Overall, nice experience. Nice and friendly people. Long Live America.

The interview was so quick (5 minutes) and the interviwer didn't ask many questions. I had so many documents with me for evidence but she even didn't ask about them. She looked at one of the photos in my photo album randomly and gave that back to me. Every one was so kind and acting professionally! Still they put me on an AP and told me to check their website in 3 weeks time but my case got released in 17 days.

The embassy staff were polite, but we had very long waiting times, with no apparent system. Even though we arrived before many applicants, and submitted our evidence earlier (you\'re called to a window twice, once to submit medical exams/other info, the second time for the actual interview) we were one of the last applicants interviewed. The waiting room was clean and included toys for children.
All in all, it was an average experience. Our appt. was at 10:30 AM: we arrived at 9 AM, were let into the embassy at 10 AM, submitted our initial evidence around 10:30 AM, but didn\'t actually have the interview until nearly 1 PM. We were placed on AP, as were the majority of Iranian applicants. There were roughly 12 Iranians at the embassy, and only 3 received their visas the following day: a DV winner, an elderly grandmother, and half of a married couple. (The wife\'s visa was cleared, the husband\'s required AP.) No one applying for a spouse or fiance visa was approved the sa... read complete review
