Review Topic: K1 Visa

Echo the previous Mumbai K1 review in all respects.

The only details I will add are:

1. The visa interview is held by the officer assisted by a local language interpreter, if necessary.

2. My fiance was asked many questions about why she, an unmarried woman was marrying a twice divorced man. And also why not get married here in India if our families are here. The answer she gave was that she wants to live as a couple after being married and marrying inside the USA will enable us to live together immediately after the wedding in the USA. Not so if we get married in India and the she has to wait a year or so for the IR visa. The officer was satisfied with this response.

3. After a successful visa grant the following piece of paper is given to the applicant. See this image: https://tinyurl.com/yxx4p7hw

Review Topic: K1 Visa

I had my k1 visa interview on Nov 29th 2019 and reached the embassy at 6.30 AM for 7.15 AM appointment. We were asked to wait until they call for immigrant visa people to form a line near the waiting area of the consulate and then they called the immigrant visa applicants to form a line at 6.55 AM( Small Tip: Try to get as early as possible in the line as you they send you inside the consulate general as per your order in the line). I was the 3rd in line and asked to take out my passport and embassy interview letter for initial screening and then they asked to go inside and sit as per the order of the line formed. (Another very common tip : Do not take any medical CDs and electronics as they are not allowed inside the consulate.) Now we were asked to enter the security check area which is just as similar to an airport security check counters and then you sit walk inside a very big waiting area and then finally enter the main waiting area where the interview takes place. The Indian guys... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

i had my interview on 15 nov.
we left from hotel at around 6.30 am , as our time was 7.15 am. there would be a long queue , it includes all categories of immigrant visa. you cannot take any electronic item inside and no CD from medical. we had nothing just a small bag with water bottle and some food and papers. i would suggest not to carry phones unless you really need it after interview , they will ask you to submit in a police van standing outside the embassy for rs 150. will go through security , similar like at airports . then go directly to waiting hall. some indian guys will help you to arrange the papers and then you get a token number.
now sit down for like 1 hour. after that your number will be on screen and you go to window and their an indian agent will ask for your papers and few basic questions. now sit down again and wait. again your token number will flash and an American officer will take your interview. no chairs , you have to stand at window.
