I got VISA!!!!! It was on 6th March. I went in at 8:30 AM First my Interview later was taken over by one guy and given to the IV unit counter. The person at counter called me after some time and then ran through my application and all the documents. He then said that he didn't accept my date of birth affidavit and asked me to produce some other secondary proof. Luckily I had my driving license original but it was at Hotel room. I requested the gentlemen and he gave me a re-entry slip. I then rushed to my hotel room, got the driving license, came back to consulate IV unit and handed over it to him. After half-an hour came the turn for taking fingerprints. Then after two hours an young american lady took the interview. She asked the following questions after taking an oath of truthfulness:
1) how I met my fiancee.
2) what's my brother doing in US
3) my occupation and that of my fiancee
4) dates of my first marriage and divorce... and that of my fiancee... read complete review

Over all, my wife's interview was a fair experience. She was asked about 15 questions, mostly related to our wedding dates, when and how we met(dates), and some about my job here in the U.S.

My fiance had his K1 visa interview March 11th. His appointment was at 7:30am. He first went through security and then was put with all others who were there for immigrant visas. He waited about 15 minutes before he was called to window 16. At this window, there was an Indian lady who fingerprinted him and gave him trouble with his affidavit of support- tax transcripts saying that she had never seen them in place of w-2s/tax returns and that they would not accept them. She told him that it would be the consulate officers decision.
After waiting for an hour he was called to the consulate officer (who I think was training another officer) she was in her mid-twenties and of Indian decent. He said that they were both extremely relaxed. They were laughing and very friendly. They asked him a few questions:
1. Who is supporting you
2. What does she do?
3. Is she in school?
4. When did you get married?
5. Did her parents come to India?

Our Interview Experience Mumbai Consulate (2008-03-05)
7:00AM Reshma arrived in line (20 people already there)
7:30AM Everyone was taken inside the consulate office. For the K visas there is no token number system, you are simply called by name. Possibly because there are so few of them compared to other visa categories. I checked and there are only 25 K1 and 7 K3 visa interviews for all of March 2008. On this particular day, there were 7 K1 and 2 K3 interviews.
8:30AM Reshma was called by name to a counter where an Indian staff member of the consulate collected the Rs. 5,240 ($131) Demand Draft. She was also fingerprinted at that point. He asked just 2 simple questions. Who is sponsoring you? Have you brought proof of relationship? He said that the packet we put together was very well organized. After that he asked my fiancee to wait.
While waiting, Reshma spoke to some other women who were also there for the K1 visa. Some of... read complete review

Went 7.30 in the morning , and entered the embassy after the initial security check. Submitted the documents and the draft and waited in the lounge, till my name was called at around 10.30 am. It was aquick review of my travel and family ties, most of the questions were related to our whereabouts in the past few yrs., how we met. Nothing complicated. and the officer said all was fine and that the passport will b ready for pick up in a week's time.
TIP: Just be truthful n nothing cn stop u from getting the visa....gud luck to all!
