Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

The interview time was set as 7:45 am and I was out by 11 am. The interview itself was about 5-7 mins long. The immigration officer asked me three questions
1) Who is the co-sponsor that filled out the I-864?
2) when was the last time you met your wife?
3) When did u get married?

I was then told that my passport will be mailed/couriered to me with my visa.
I was out by 11 am and on my way back home!!

Review Topic: General Review

Hello Everyone,
It was very easy and some general questions. Everything was fine except the waiting time.
Hubby had a interview @ 7:30 am and he reached there around 6:30 am. Went through security check. After 10 minutes he was called for fingerprints. At 8:30 AM he was called by Indian consulate officer he asked some general question:
1) who is calling you
2) who is your co-sponsor
3) How is your co-sponsor is related to your wife.
And then he was asked to wait. And after 3 hours he was called by American Consulate officer along with translator. He also asked some general question:
1) Who is calling you?
2) How did you guys met
3) Was it love marriage or arrange
4) How did you wife initial went to US
5) Who fixed date for the wedding
And that is it.

It was much easier than I was expecting. My suggestion is be confident, make sure you read all the forms before you go to the interview and ... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My interview was scheduled at 8.00 AM. I reached 15 min in advance and it was a good idea, since they do not allow people inside before that.

Step 1 : Security Check
There is a security check outside the consulate, where the lady will ask for the interview letter. Once inside the consulate, there is a through security check. Tips: Do not take any bags, mobiles, electronic devices etc. Ladies - Even a handbag is not allowed.

Step 2 : Interview by the indian personnel
There is a separate area for the Immigration visa. There will be an executive who will collect your interview letter. After this the waiting starts. I had to wait for 1 hour before my name was called. A lady at the counter asked the following questions

1. Who is sponsoring for me?
2. What does he do there?
3. From how long is he in US?
4. What do I do here.

After this, she returned the originals and I went back to the ... read complete review

this interview was for my spouse who attended his CR1 interview.
I am explaining this on basis what he described to me.
He had his medical on Feb 10 and 11, 2011.
Stayed in a hotel close to the embassy and appolo hospital in chennai, India.

His interview was at 8:00 am on February 14, 2011.
He went in at 7:15 pm and there were already people waiting outside.
He was checked thoroughly and let inside. An India women asked for his appointment letter and passport. She also made him to DS 230 part II and asked to wait in the lounge.
He was again called by the Indian lady and she asked for a copy of petiotoner's passport (my passport).

After some time a white lady called him. She was very friendly and asked him
'Say something about your wife'. My husband replied beginning with my name, out data of marriage , my employement , address etc.
Then she asked for our wedding invitation card and pictures of our w... read complete review
