New US Embassy in Mumbai (Bandra)
Interview: 11/23/2011 Time:7:30
My wife arrived at the embassy around 6:30am. There were already few people standing in line when she got there. She had to wait in line for 2 hours as the embassy opened at 8:30am. After clearing security she was given two tokens and was sitted on the left side. When her first token number came on screen she was taken for bio-metrics (finger printing) and was handed all the original documents(marriage and birth certificate etc)at that time and then told to sit on the right side and wait for her second token number to appear on screen and name to be called on as well.
They didn't ask for any additional documents such as copy of sponsor,Ds230, I130 etc...
American CO(Lady,) this are the questions(not in order) that the officer asked her...
Q1 Who is calling you to USA?
Q2 How long your husband has lived in USA?
Q3 Where does your husband lives?
Q4 How many brother... read complete review

IF YOU ARE AN INTERRACIAL COUPLE, READ THIS REVIEW

I attended the interview with my fiance on August 3, 2011. Things to note about the embassy:
1) A beneficiary CAN NOT take any kind of electronics into the embassy. No camera, no cell phone. The security WILL NOT hold onto these items for you. You need to either leave them at home or bring someone with you who will wait outside for you. If the petitioner accompanies you, the security will hold the petitioner's phone which can then be retrieved after the interview.
2) Security will call up each interview group to line up outside the embassy based on appointment time. If they call the 10:00 appointments and yours is as 10:30, do not get in line. You will be wasting everyone's time and you will be forced to leave the line. Wait until your appointment time is called.
3) If you bring people with you who are not part of your petition, do not bring them in line with you. Once again, you are wasting everyone... read complete review

We reached embassy like 7:15 in the morning. Our interview was at 8:00. They started letting people in from 7:45am. We reached inside the embassy. My fiancee(US citizen) was allowed to come with me inside the embassy section. So first I went through the process of the finger print , from waiting in line to getting the finger print done took only about 20 mins. Then we waited for our interview for about 30 mins, when our token number was displayed on the one of interview panel. Then we went together to that window and submitted the papers.(They took only DS230, DS156: 2 separate forms, DS156K : 1 form, PCC only from passport office(they didn't take the one from the district police office), tax papers, medical report). Submitted the fee. They allow you to pay the entire fee by cash in Indian Rupee there(I asked him if they accept card, he said no). So I had the bank draft, I paid the fee via bank draft which I got from SBI bank.
Then we waited about 30 more minutes and we were ca... read complete review

My wife's interview was on November 10th at 7:30 AM at the old Lincoln House Consulate in Mumbai.

She arrived at the consulate around 6:30 AM and was the second one in line.

At 7:30 AM sharp, the doors to the consulate were opened and she went inside.

After clearing security she was taken for bio-metrics (finger printing).

After finger printing she was IMMEDIATELY called up by a male Indian officer and he asked her the following questions:

Q: Who's calling you to USA?
Q: What is your husband's name?
Q: Who is your joint sponsor?
Q: Do you have the I-864 packet with you? Please give me your joint sponsors tax information (IRS Tax Transcripts and W-2's). This is the 3rd time we submitted these. At NVC, VFS Ahmedabad asked for it again, and here at the consulate.

She was then returned her original documents that were submitted to the NVC and was then told to have a seat th... read complete review

Reached consulate at 7 a.m., went through security check and directly for fingerprints. I was called right away to the window. They returned all the originals and asked to wait until called again. I waited till 11:30 before CO took my interview. Took oath, signed DS-230(Part II), and asked following questions:

1) Who is the petitioner?
2) When were you married?
3) Who was the co-sponser?
4) Where is the co-sponser working?
5) What does your spouse do, where is she working?
6) Where does she stay and with whom?
7) What does your father-in-law do?
8) Is it a love or arrange marriage?
9) Where was the wedding and how many people attended the wedding?
10) Do you have pictures? (Showed the wedding album)
11) When you visited to the United States? Did you go there for work or to visit your wife?
12) Where did you stay in US?
13) When was the last time you met your wife?
I replied, "t... read complete review
