Hi Everyone-
My fiance had his interview at 7:30am on 07.11.12. I will try to be as descriptive as possible but I apologize as this is coming 2nd hand.
Our interview was originally scheduled on 07.10.12 at 7:30am. We were prepared and ready to go. He got there at little after 6am and it was raining so he got to go inside the consulate very soon after he got there. He did security and got his token. They called him up to pay his demand draft and we had gotten it for only 60 rupees more than required as we were concerned about the exchange rate. They sent him away and told him he would have to interview the next day. They DO NOT give change and you are NOT allowed to go fix it and come back. We were devastated and so emotionally exhausted.
The next day we did it again. This time he got to the consulate around 6:30am. They formed the 2 lines for 7:30am interviews and 7:45am interviews and started letting people in. He got his token # and was... read complete review

5:45- Left Hotel
6:30- Reached Consulate. There were two security guys to guide us . They said not to come now and to wait opposite by the sidewalk. They said only 7:00AM they will allow to come near. There were already bunch of people before we came.
7:00- VFS people came outside with poles to create lines.
7:10- Two VFS officers came out to the crowd and went 2 directions. One came to create a line for Immigrant visa another for non immigrant visa.
7:12- VFS officers took the 2 batches of people to line up in front of the consulate.
7:15- VFS Officers started checking our appointment letter and the passport. After quick checking of appointment letter they told us to keep the passport inside..
7:20- The line started moving. I started feeling nervous.
7:25- Upon entering the consulate there is airport like security check. The security said to keep the belongings in one box.
7:27- I kept my watch and my file inside the box. I di... read complete review

Hi,
My learning is:
Whole process was breeze and it was not that scary at all.
*Reached Embassy at 7am for 7:45am interview with my USC spouse.
*Entered embassy at 7:30 am, got my fingerprints done by 8am.
*Waited until 9am before being called by Pr-screening Indian officer for documents check.Though, I submitted my last 3 years tax papers but officer still asked for 2011 tax papers which I submitted again,as I was prepared for this question(thanks to VJ reviewers who always advised to carry most recent year tax papers to interview).
*Had my main interview at 10 am.Officer asked for my marriage date,my in-laws address, gathering, and USC spouse introduction. After some typing, officer congratulated me for my visa.
The two things that helped me were:
Had my USC spouse with me during interview
And,prior to interview, I submitted all of my documents and medical , phone logs emails, facebook chat and com... read complete review

According to my wife, the process was logistically well managed. They asked her a few tricky questions, but nothing that a bona fide couple would have any difficulty with. The staff and COs were thorough, but polite and cooperative. On the whole a nice experience.
