Visa Approved! Pretty easy interview. Very few questions asked. Basically similar to most people that have had positive experience and posted reviews on VJ. Got in at 7:30, got out around 10:00! =

Interview Review
My wife did reached Mumbai US Embassy at 6:30 am. There were already approximately 50 people in the line by 6:30 am. Some were seating on the left side and few of them were standing in the single line. Non Immigrant and Immigrant people were standing in the same line.
At 7:15 am, VFS associate came & told people to form 2 different lines, 1 for immigrant visa and another for non – immigrant visa.
First they check the passport, papers of Nonimmigrant visa and then check documents like interview letter, passport for immigrant visa. After that they will ask to keep the passport in the bag and only need interview letter outside of the bag.
First they ask Nonimmigrant visa to go first inside the US embassy and immigrant people afterwards.
At 7:30 am, first you need to go through the security check and just a note, they even do not allow any kind of memory card in the purse to be taken inside.
Token assignment is very fast.... read complete review

My wife arrived at the consulate at 6.30am! After initial document review, the consular officer asked a few questions about the my(petitioner)work, company name etc. She then asked her about her previous visit to the US and looked at some wedding pictures. After a few simple question, she said that the Visa will be issued and that the passport will be mailed within 5 days. Interview was don by around 9.30am! Overall, it was simple and straightforward.

It started by us showing up at 6:00 am for a 7:30 interview appointment. There were already about 20 people in line across the street from the consulate. The VFS folks came out at 7:20am to begin reforming the lines. I should point out that there were a lot of ‘line cutters’… apparently this is acceptable in India. However, for those of you who are coming to the USA for the first time, it is not acceptable in the USA and you will be inviting some conflict if you do it there.
Back to the VFS lines… They VFS folks formed two lines, one for immigrants and ones for non-immigrants. By this time it was a ‘free for all’ … and it was probably pointless to have waited in lined for 1.5 hours anyway. For us K1 visa applications, while all the K1 documentations says it is a ‘non-immigrant’ visa, the VFS refers to the K1 as a ‘immigrant’ visa which caused some confusion for us.
Two lines were formed in from of the consulate entrance. All... read complete review

My fiance got to the Consulate at 6 am. There were already 15-20 people waiting outside the consulate. They had formed a single queue.
At around 6.50, VFS guards come and segregated the line into IV and Non-IV applicants. IV Applicants (about 30 applications for IV by now) were asked to keep their appointment letters in hand along with passport.
At 7.15 the guards led them inside the building for security checks. It doesn\\\\\\\'t matter if you get there super early really, because there is a security check and each check station takes different time. You are not allowed to carry anything but your Visa related forms and docs. VFS no longer has a locker facility there either.
It was about 7.25 by the time my fiance got through the check. After that they proceeded to another building. IV Applicants were asked to go to a counter where an Indian CO looked at it, and attached a token number to it. After this, she was asked to take a seat till h... read complete review
