Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

It was smooth interview, my wife arrived 6:15 am and was out by 9:30 am.
Questions asked: How do you know him? What does he do? Do you plan to work? Show me some pics? After looking at the wedding pix, IO states that my wife won't have to work if she sells all her wedding jewelry. Your visa is approved and pay the new $165 fee before leaving for US.

Few notes: They did not ask her for w-2 or previous federal tax returns. Outside the embassy, most people in immigrant lines were elderly people ,almost 80%.
I recommend hotel kohinoor elite for a comfortable stay. My wife did mention that she felt like the decision to approve or disapprove is already made before the interview, her interview lasted 10 mins. Stay positive and you got nothing to worry about.

Now we begin our next journey of life. Thanks to all the members who helped me especially Sangitha, Saylin, johna1 and all other members. Hit me up if you need help.

First interview was with one Indian lady and she asked the following questions.
1. Do you need translator
2. FPS taken
3.All originals were returned that we submitted to NVC

Immediately, my spouse was called to another window and an American male interviewed here;

1. Marriage related questions were asked-love or arranged
2. When did you get married
3. How did your marriage got arranged
4. How long do you know your spouse before marriage
5. Where did your marriage took place
6. When did your daughter was born
7. What does your husband do and where does he work

He viewed our marriage album and said visa is approved. Asked to sign the DS-230, took new passport photo... read complete review

April 18th, 2013 Approved CR-1!

7:30 am
My husband was at the Consulate since his interview was scheduled for 8:30 am. There were quite a few people in front of him. The security/VFS folks asked to form two lines, an immigrant & a non-immigrant line, and asked them to have the Interview Letter & Passport handy.

7:45 am
He was in after 15 minutes of waiting & went through the Security Check to the main gates into the front yard of the consulate. As he passed through the Security Check & got himself cleared, he walked out the other end of the room, into the courtyard, and then into another building. There he again stood in a line.

8:00 am
A window opened and they were all given a token number depending on the visa category and had stuck the token number to the interview letter. And was asked to wait.

8:30 am
His token number appeared on the screen and he walked to that specific counter. He was... read complete review
