My husband arrived for his interview about 20 minutes early, they said they could not let him in until closer to the appointment time. He stood outside talking to the security guard, who was apparently very chatty and friendly. He went in about 10 minutes later, was called up to turn in his paperwork about 5 minutes after that, then waited another 20 or so minutes while they reviewed it. Then he was called in to the interview room, where the man asked him the following questions:

1. Where we met
2. Where we got married, how big the wedding was
3. To see photos of our wedding
4. Who some people in the photos were
5. Who were my references that I used as bona fides for the I-130 paperwork all that time ago (as in what was their relation to me)
6. When I got divorced
7. How quickly after the divorce we started dating

The guy liked our wedding photos, especially our cake (we used a picture that we borrowed from the US ... read complete review

I had an appointment at 1:00 PM on a Wednesday. I was the only person there for an interview so I was able to go to the first window right away. Paid for my visa and handed over all additional documents I brought to the interview. After that the lady asked me to take a seat and wait to be called up.

I waited about 15 minutes until the consular officer called me to the interview window. The interview was quick and easy. The following questions were asked:
Why did you spend so much time in the US between 2009-2013?
Where did you meet your fiancé?
When did you become romantically involved?
What does your fiancé do?
How often have you visited him in the US?
Have you met his parents?
Have his parents visited Iceland?

The officer said he didn't see anything alarming about our case and told me I could pick up the visa in 8 days.

The information on the embassy website for K-1 visa is rather misl... read complete review

Had an appointment at 8:30 AM. Showed up at 8:00, and went to the Immigrant/US citizen line. The line for non-immigrants is much longer, and already had about 30-40 people in it when I arrived. The immigrant line only had one other person in it.

I got in fairly quickly, probably waited about 15-20 minutes before being called to the door. Once inside, I was directed to a special booth for immigrants. At the booth, there was a person who took all the original documents I was asked to bring, then asked me some general questions, and asked me to sit down and wait for my actual interview.

After waiting about 20 minutes, I was called to a different booth and had my interview. It went really well, and only took about 15 minutes.

I believe I was out of the Embassy with a big smile on my face not later than 9:15.

They almost never do K visas so they did not realize they were supposed to contact me with an interview date, did not answer any of my emails and I didn't get to talk to anyone when I went to the embassy or called. I tried being patient because I knew they might just be going over everything, didn't think they just forgot! When my fiance finally called to ask they said I could get an interview next week and asked if I had my medical yet, turns out they didn't know they were supposed to tell me about that either. When I finally got an appointment for the medical two days before my interview the doctor tells me it usually takes him two weeks to get all the paperwork ready, embassy didn't know that either. Thankfully this doctor was a saint and did it for me the same day so I made my interview. Show up for that early but had to wait outside in Icelandic winter for 45 minutes and was therefore late for interview, then find out I need to pay in cash, no one had told me that on the 3 phone c... read complete review

The whole interview process at the Reykjavík Embassy was really straightforward... However, we arrived early and were not allowed to go inside until we were called in. Though we had an appointment at 10, we still had to wait an hour because they let people through the doors in the order in which they arrived. If you're going to the Embassy in the winter, wear appropriate clothing. I went for style over warmth and seriously couldn't feel my toes after 10 minutes of standing outside. Eventually, my husband and myself went in, and gave them our paperwork. We waited around some more and then the consular officer called his name up to the window. We thought he would be interviewed in a private room, but she interviewed him right there on the spot after fingerprinting him and having him sign some paper. She only asked him about three questions which were
a)When did you meet your wife?
b) Have you been to the US before?
c) When were you married?

She took... read complete review
