Wonderful experience with this consulate for my fiance. Her interview wasn't long at all, just some detailed questions and thorough examination of all our paperwork. Couldn't have lasted more than 30-45 minutes. We both were very impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail.

My wife's interview was scheduled for 9:30 am on 28 July. She arrived a bit early and handed in her documents at about 9:15... and was finished and outside the Consulate by 10:00! She said the initial interviewer and the Consular Officer asked exactly the same questions (about 10 questions in all, mostly about past travel & visas to the US, how long we'd been married, our kids, etc...) but nothing difficult or challenging. The only 'issue' was that the translator who translated her birth certificate(s) spelled her mother's name differently for two different documents. (In Korea there is not just one 'birth certificate', there are two documents that together serve as a birth certificate.)
She was also told that she would have to wait two weeks for the visa to be stamped in her passport and get it back. She'd asked for this to be done quickly so she can join us here in the US as soon as possible, but was told that 2 weeks was firm... no exceptions. Bummer. Glad to have t... read complete review

My wife went for her interview on 03-26-2015. She was told that our application for immigrant status has been suspended in accordance with section 221(g) and her visa is under administrative review processing under 9FAM 40.41. Also she was told to resubmit a new Lebanon police clearance and an updated passport. In October 2010 her original police clearance was sent back to the USCIS and destroyed for no reason after they denied her K-1 visa . These documents were never sent back to my wife or me. Contacted an immigration attorney and also contacted my U.S. Senator for help. javascript:emoticon('')

Very organized going into interview. Fiance arrived one hour early and was able to get into her interview early. Very few questions, focused on previous US visa and her entry/exit (no overstay, abided by Visa requirements). Also very surprised neither of us had been married before - with that and the previous US visa, was very short interview - less than 30 minutes. They seemed favorable to previous marriage status and her previous visa. She said they were very nice and helpful.

HK Consulate were great. The local lady struggled to find anything to ask me and was digging around to try and find something; I've been married for 13 years, have 2 USC kids and previously held a GC that I voluntarily surrendered due to an o'seas posting. The CO was very sympathetic to my request to have the visa issued so I could spend Labor Day weekend with my kids before they go back to school; my visa was issued in 3 days.
