Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My husband's interview was scheduled for June 11, 2014 at 7:30 am. I wanted to be there by my husband's side. I arrived in Accra the night before the interview (I could get any earlier flights). The morning of interview we arrived at the Embassy at 6:55 am, and were in a long queue outside of the Embassy. We arrived at the door of the Embassy where they ask you to give up electronic devices/beverages/lotions, etc. I had to go through the metal detector and have my purse/bag screened. After that, we waited in another queue that led into the actual building where the interviews were held. They called my husband's name and we both went up to the window. The officer at window was a local guy. His questions were pretty simple: "How long have you been married?" , "Have you lived anywhere outside of Ghana?" "Do you have proof of Bona Fide marriage?" I wasn't able to attend the interview but from what I gathered, it wouldn't have mattered either way. Also, we had 3 weeks notice before the interview which made it impossible for me to take that time off of work. But I heard everything went really quickly, everyone was pleasant and the woman who interviewed her was very kind & friendly. The questions were the following:

Where did you meet?
When did you meet?
When was his last visit?
When was his first visit?
So you met his family online too?
Why did you decide to marry in the US and not in Ghana?
What work does he do?

The Visa Officer seemed impressed with the communications between my fiance and my mother and sister. We often spoke on Google Hangout and we took screenshots of our video chats. I also visited 3 times throughout the course of the year spending close to 2 months going sight seeing all around Ghana. As far as gathering evidence, I basically foll... read complete review
