We arrived at the US embassy in Accra at 7.20am for our 7.30am appointment. Upon arrival, we joined a queue in front of the Consulate and after confirming we had an appointment from the Interview letter, we were allowed to enter at nearly 8am.
My husband was with me (hence the use of we) and I was worried he will not be allowed in since it was not yet 8am, but he was allowed to follow me in. We dropped off our phones and other electronic devices and made our way towards the main building. A security guard near the main office entrance asked us to sit outside and wait to be called in. However a few minutes later, we realized he had given us the wrong information because persons seated outside were actually those who were waiting to collect their DNA results. (Please take note to almost triple check any information that does not seem right when you get to the embassy)
Anyway, we lost a bit of time and moved further down the queue as a result of this mix-up ... read complete review

My Fiance went for his interview on 12/10/14. He informed me that he went in by 7am and had to wait for a good portion of the day to be called. He said his interview went really well. He had a White female counsler and she put him at ease on the first meeting. He was able to answer all of her questions an she seemed very pleased and impressed that he speaks to my mother on the phone. she told him to have a seat an she would call him back. she called him back up an handed him a white slip of paper that instructed him she would be contacting him by january 15. she did not request any further information. she only checked adminstrative processing. I'm not sure what this mean an if anyone else have had this happen to them. if anyone can give me some guidance I will greatly appreciate it.

Overall our experience was good, though different from what we expected.
The day was extremely long and drawn out.
We arrived at the embassy early (far too early in hindsight) – 0530 for a 0730 appointment. Doors opened at 0700 and Ghanaian spouse went in. Security at embassy is kind but very strict and so they did not let me, US citizen, in until exactly 0800. They made sure I waited at the round about rocks. At 0800 I showed my passport, explained why I was there and was let into the building with no trouble. Found spouse who had kept a seat for me and thankfully I hadn’t missed a thing, other than the front desk where the Interview letter was submitted. So we waited together until our name was called for the first time around 1100.
Window 2 we met a Ghanaian lady who immediately wanted to know who US citizen was. First she gave back to us a small stack of papers that had come from NVC. And then she asked for Passport, Medical, Passport Phot... read complete review

Overall it was a good experience, the fact my husband said that it was just so happening to be raining that day and he had to try his best to keep everything dry. I was at the heart center getting some test done when he called, My doctor had just complained to me about my blood pressure and when I was trying to explain why its so high that day my phone and my husband said babe WE DID IT!! One of the Happiest moments of my life.. He said the guy interviewing him said we had a way then enough evidence he said he even tried to make small talk about it. So overall it was good.javascript:emoticon('')

I will like to share my experience at the Accra consulate with you.
My appointment time was on Monday 27.10.2014 @7:30am.
I got to the consulate around 6:00am. I waited in my car till 7am and walked towards the building.
At the entrance, we were asked to form 2 queues: one for immigrant visa and another for non-immigrants. I joined the line for immigrants.
We were called by a gentleman outside who inspected my appointment letter and asked us to go inside.
We were asked to drop all metallic and electrical devices for safe keeping. We were then screened; and our bags too.
Once we entered, our appointment letters were inspected and reclipped as some pages were taken out.
We were then asked to take wait. We got seated..
I got all my documents ready for the interview.
My evidence included facebook chats, whatsapp chats and screen shots, tango screen shots, vodafone call logs with my husband's numbers marked, pictures of... read complete review
