The Embassy took and scanned the Affidavit of Support and updated tax returns (we had not made any updates for the last two years our case was pending at NVC).
My husband apparently had a blast with the interview because the CO was quite friendly and nowhere "rigid" as he had anticipated. Questions asked:
- How did you meet?
- When did you propose?
- When did you get married?
- How many times has your wife visited you in Ghana? (He talked about our last trip to Dubai and attending the Expo that led to a tangential conversation about how nice the Expo experience was. Then the CO looked at our photos. None of the other supporting documents were asked for during the interview.)
- What work does your wife do?
Then came the magic words! Super thrilled that we are finally here!
Also, note that applicants spend about 2-3 hours at the Embassy going through the entire interview process. After reading revie... read complete review

My fiancée’s visa appointment was scheduled for 0730 on June 1 2022 and according to her the interview lasted for about 3 mins. After the interview she was told her medical results wasn’t available to make a determination so the consular officer took her passport and other documents.
She was also told that her visa will be issued once they receive her medical results from the clinic. She was therefore given documents about legal rights available to victims of domestic abuse and a 221(g) form. The 221(g) form which is like a temporal “refusal†notice with the explanation as follows “your case is subject to further administrative processing. This process can be lengthy. We will contact you when there is an update in your case or if there is some action you need to take.â€
The 221(g) scared her but i was encouraged by the fact that somebody on this platform had already shared similar experience. the visa was issued to... read complete review

My wife's interview started on time with no long delays. She gave her documents to the officer and answered some questions about the circumstances around our marriage and also about my late wife. Her case was then placed in 'Refused' status which actually means administrative processing. The officer kept her passport and other documents. For anyone reading this, remember to read the small print under the status. Seeing the word 'Refused' was a big (and unnecessary) scare for us. I wish they could use more precise wording. My wife also received some instructions for creating an online account to set up a delivery location for her passport. The website is buggy and it took me a while to finally set it up with spotty help from tech support. After a week or so, the status of my wife's case started updating to 'admin processing' then 'printed' then 'issued' (https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx).

My experience was a good one at the consulate with lots of questions asked however, it was more of a conversation and someone wanting to know our love story ! The consular was a white American woman.
Questions asked:
1. Consular mentioned my name for confirmation.
2. Asked to confirm my Date of Birth
3. She asked how I met my husband, I gave a short answer but she wanted more like a story.
4. She then asked a follow up question about our meeting
5. She asked if we got married during hubby’s first visit and I said yes
6. She asked if we had both the traditional and ordinance marriage on the same day
7. Consular asked if I was given cloth (“Ntoma) and drinks by hubby, she asked because she saw the gifts & items for the bride price whilst going through our photobook
8. She asked if it was our first marriage
9. She asked if we had kids
10. Consular asked if hubby had visited aga... read complete review

I had my interview on the 13/4/22. My son also attended the interview, he’s 5 years.
The officer said he’s going to approve mine but my son will needanother support document from his father before he’s also approved.
I made this mistake, and I have been having sleepless nights after the interview.
The officer asked if he should approve mine now or I will wait till we submit my son’s support documents before he issue for both of us, and I said he should wait for the documents then he issue.
Now am confused, we submitted the documents in the evening the same day after the interview, but we have still not heard from them.
My husband is mad at me that I should have let the consular officer issue mine first. Please has this happened to anyone before. I am over stressing myself with thinking and regrets. Please help
