US Consulate interview was generally painless and fast. Recommend getting there at least 30 min ahead of time. I waited 20 min to get in after getting a number, 10 minutes for my 1st window (document check and instructions where to go for my medical). Then another 20 min wait to get to the window # 2 and another 20 min before the actual interview. In comparison, the interview was rather short-10 min.
The 3 documents they were interested in: police record in German, affidavit of support and, in our case, the K-1 beneficiary\'s divorce decree in German. They didn\'t take translated versions although their website says all foreign documents should be translated so it was an unnecessary expense...grrr! They didn\'t care about the evidence of an ongoing relationship, I was told we had a strong case.
Questions asked: When did we meet and what did we do during the 5 months we lived together in Germany? He also asked if I\'m planning to work in my profession in ... read complete review

The process for my K1 visa at the consulate in Frankfurt was fast & uncomplicated.
I had to wait for 2 weeks for receipt of my visa / passport after it had been approved because they had not printed it out.
But overall I was quite satisfied with their work.

Smooth process, try to get there early to be abel to park at the curbside right in front of the gate, be ahead of any queues and just do not try to bring in any electronics.
As our papers had been submitted to NVC completely copies were not required at all but I guess it can't hurt to have them available.
Actual interview was no longer than about 5minutes, chatting about where & how we met, when relocation is planned and what I plan to do once in the US.
Don't sweat it!

They were fast, not complicated, and polite.
We did need to send money to them, and were
not allowed to pay a fee with cash, EZ card,
or credit card. We had to go to a bank, that
same day, and transfer money to their account.

I did the required medical exam already before the interview.
My wife and I were there already at about 6.25 a.m. and my appointment was set for 7.30 a.m. So we were the first ones there.
The first people showed up at around 7 a.m., so being there at about 6.45 a.m. should be on the safe side.
Shortly after 7 the first guard showed up. He is a really funny guy, that is basically around to tell people that they can't take ANY electronic devices inside (You will be thrown out again if you do. You have to get rid of the device, then you can come back) and he also knows how to cheer people up. That was a great start.
Then at about 7.30 a.m. the "greeter", as he was called, came out and basically told people that the non-immigrant-visaline was on the left and everything else (All U.S. citizen services and immigrant visas) were on the right side. Then he went to everybody in the non-immigrant-visaline and ans... read complete review
