Review Topic: Direct Consular Filing

We had an interview at 9:15 this morning and arrived with plenty of time to spare. We sat in the car and waited until 5 minutes before 9 and walked up to the line. I asked an officer if it'd be okay to bring in water and crackers for ma 1.5 year old son. Totally fine.

The line for our interview had nobody in it, while the other line had about 6 people waiting. We were called up to the window fairly fast and got our number. We went through security and then walked through the building, outside, and then into the next building.

We were greeted with a man who directed us to Window 22 where we could say why we were there and pay the $230 fee. Nobody was in that line, so we were able to pay right away and then sit down and wait for the next step.

About 5 minutes later we were called up to window 20 where my husband had his fingerprints taken, he signed a couple papers, and I filled out the Deutsche Post Briefmarke with our address. Our telepho... read complete review

The interview at the Frankfurt consulate was very relaxing and people were very, very friendly.
My appointment was at 08.30 am so at that time it was pretty crowded in front of the building.I had to wait in line for about 10-15 minutes and a woman looked at my passport and gave me a number.Going through security was no problem at all.Everybody was very friendly!
In the consulate I went to a info desk and the guy standing there gave me instructions on how to proceed. Since i had an immigrant visa i could skip the long line for the non- immigrant visa and went straight to a window where a friendly man took my fingerprints and gave me my dhl letter i submitted to fill out. After that I was not even seated for 3 minutes until I was called up to a woman who checked my papers and told me that everything looked fine. She said she just needs me to confirm that all the facts about me are correct. That took not even 5 minutes and after that i was told to sit down again and wait for th... read complete review

very easy-going and friendly staff. My interview was conducted in German and lasted for about 10 minutes. The whole procedure at the consulate took about 2.5 hours.
Questions asked: how did you meet your fiance? What does he do for a living? Do you have a university degree? What did you study? What do you plan on doing for a living in the U.S.? When and how did you get engaged? When would you like to enter the U.S.?

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Finding a parking spot was easy, there were many available in the area. I went to the US citizen line (the other line is for non-immigrant visas) and was immediatly asked to counter 2. There I showed the invitation letter and my passport.
Then I went throught the security check and walked over to the consulate. I was told to go to counter 22 directly. I had no payments to make and was given a paper that explained what all was going to happen in the consulate that day. I waited for like 10min and was asked to counter 20 where my stuff got checked and the DHL Expressmarke was filled out. Then I had to wait again for a little while. Then I was asked to counter 17, made an oath to tell the truth, was asked some random questions about my husband and me and was told to sit back down. About 5 min later I got asked to counter 17 again where I was told my conditional visa would arrive in the mail in the next 5 business days.
It arrived the next morning.
The whole process i... read complete review
