Really quite simple, My fiance was in and out within an hour. she arrived around 830 for her 9 appointment, parking was a bit tricky but she found one eventually.
Not allowed to bring anything inside the consulate building other than required paperwork, entered the building after passing through security and entered the line. Apparently it was a slow do for the embassy since there was only 1 other person there for a K1 interview. Questions were very simple how did you meet? How long have you known each other? When and how did I propose? and where do we plan on living when she enters the US. That's about it she was approved and issued the visa which was mailed back to her in about 3 days with her passport. Easy enough

I had my appointment at 8 am and was there around 7.30 am.
Almost everyone was very friendly (only one of the security dudes was a little grumpy).
The consulate officer who interviewed me just asked three questions and then we started chatting about books and travelling.
- Where exactly did you meet?
- Do you and your fiancé have kids?
- Where do you want to get married?

I had a very good experience.
The first line was the security line. Inside the consulate my passport, photo, return address was collected at the first counter, at the second counter my originals and fingerprints were taken. The employee explained the process of today and what happens thereafter to me. Checking up with me the personal infos in the computer. the third counter was the actual interview. In my case it was brief. Just one or 2 questions and handing me back the originals. Kept for sure the passport.
All the stops at the counters were not long at all but had to wait some time for the second and third counter.
I spent about 2,5 hours at the consulate, from arriving at the consulate till I left the consulate.

Everybody at the embassy is super friendly. The interview went very smooth and there is no reason to worry if you are prepared. The questions were fair and about where and when we met, how often we have seen each other, if I have already met his family and when and where he proposed.
Good luck everybody!

The interview process was very professional.

Our appointment was at 8AM, so we travelled to Frankfurt the day prior and stayed at the Best Western Hotel Friedberger Warte that is nearby. I suggest you stay there if you have an early appointment as it is just a short 5 minute walk from the hotel front door to the consulate entrance.

When you arrive at the consulate, there are two lines queued up outside. The line to the left is for Non Immigrant Visas, and the line to the right is for other visas and US Citizen services. As I accompanied my fiancee and am a US Citizen, we went into the empty line to the right and were processed next, which skipped about 30 people standing in line.

After the confirm your appointment you process through security, which is pretty straightforward. You remove all metal items and place them into a clear plastic bag, proceed through a metal detector while your possessions go through an X-Ray machine, and then proc... read complete review
