Soo in short: I went to the consulate even though I was way too early. Thought maybe I can walk around a bit more to kill time. However, when I arrived a little more than an hour early two employees told me to already get in line. They said it's no problem and if I wait for an hour the line will be really long. So i got in line (right line for immigrant visas) and it was all quite easy. First window needs your appointment letter and the passport. Then you are sent to an officer to empty all your pockets, take off all you have like cellphone, watch etc and put it in a transparent plastic bag. Afterwards you may enter the building and have to pass the metal detector. If you brought smth they don't approve they take it and hold it for you. All other stuff except papers you had to put and keep in the transparent plastic bag. Next station was another building where you had to take everything out of the bag and leave the plastic bag in a box. Don't ask me for the reason 😅. Anyway wit... read complete review

Had an appointment at 08:15, so arrived at 08:00. It was very easy to get there on the u-bahn. We went to the interview together (the USC is allowed to attend).
There was some confusion over which line to wait in, but, as of August 2018, the right line is for immigrant cases.
We received a number and went to the security room where we were scanned. Don't bring your phones with you or anything. They give you a clear bag to hold your papers and wallets.
We leave the security room and then go in to another building where the woman at the front desk looked at our number and told us to go to the cashier's window.
The cashier would be "back in 5 minutes" according to the sign. He took the intending immigrant's passport and some the passport-sized photos (there was a photobooth inside the building in case the photographs were forgotten). He told us we had already paid and then asked us to sit down and wait for our number to be calle... read complete review

I had my interview on september 4th. My experience with this consulate are quite confusing but smooth in the end.
It started with getting my P3 and scheduling my appointment. I got an email saying to bring the DS-260 confirmation page. After a short reply to the embassy making clear that I filed for DS-160, they corrected their request with a new email.
Getting that appointment was super fast. I only waited for a week to get one. My medical was a week before the interview and the doctor said that the results won't make it on time. So I was expecting AP after the interview anyway.
My appointment was early in the morning at 7:45. Got to the embassy at 7:30 and already entered. They had two lines outside: one for non-immigrant applicants and one for immigrant applicants. K1 is both, so I picked the shorter line.
I only had my smartphone so security was super smooth and quick. The doctor told me to bring the x-ray disc to the interview but security kept it..... read complete review
