After my initial interview appointment (scheduled for early April) had been cancelled, my husband and I requested an emergency interview earlier this month. The consular section got back to us in a very timely manner, granting us an appointment for today. Due to it being an interview during a time in which routine visa services have been suspended, I will be going into a bit more detail on aspects I may have otherwise left out. I have interviewed at this consulate twice before - both times for J1 visas (once as a high school exchange student in 2007, once for an internship that was part of my university studies in 2017) - so I can make comparisons to "as usual" here and there.
My interview was scheduled for 9:15am; since they generally ask you to not arrive too early, I approached the consulate at around 8:55 (I'd parked my car (lots of street parking was available) shortly after eight, but decided to wait until 8:50 before I got out to not queue too early (yes, there we... read complete review

My interview was scheduled for 8.30, arrived there at 8.20. There was a very long doubleline outside, once inside you get a number and get called to the first window pretty fast, just explains how you will get your Visa, you give up any requested documents here, get info on what to do after you get your Visa. Took like 5 min, then waited again for about 20 min for the actual interview, also a window, the IO was really nice, asked how we met, when we decided to get married, and what my husband does. Then said he don't see a reason not to give me a Visa, that was it I left after about 45 min of being in the embassy.. got my passport 4 days later

Our interview was on 01/31/20 and the time was scheduled for 8:00 am. My fiancé and I arrived 30 minutes early, but we were let in. I have read about cases where people had to wait until the scheduled time, but that did not seem to be the case with us.
As many have written before, you first have to register and then you will be sent to a window where they take your passport etc. Then, you receive a number and have to wait a bit, until you are called to another window, where they compare your data and make sure your name etc. is correct. I had a different birth name then my current name since my parents married when I was a child, so they asked me about that, but it was no problem since I had a document proving the name change.
Our interview took around 5-10 minutes. Our officer was friendly, but not as hyper friendly as some people have described.
The questions were:
When did you meet?
Did you live abroad?
How long ... read complete review
