Today I had my interview at the consulate.

Overall it took 2 hours. The actual interview was only 5 minutes and I was approved. The consular officer was really nice and was listening to me.

Overall it was a really nice experience and everyone there was nice to me. Thank you!

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

I was at the consulate in Frankfurt today for my IR1 visa interview.

We stayed overnight at a hotel nearby and left my phone at the hotel.

I arrived around 7:30 for my 8:15 interview, and was glad I arrived that early because it meant that all the lines I had to wait in were shorter. Waited outside for maybe 20 minutes, and once I was inside, I had to go to three windows/counters:

(1) cashier (pay my fee in euros or dollars, show my print-out that I registered online the address where my passport and visa should be sent)
(2) document person (confirmed my basic details and those of my spouse and parents, etc. They already had all my original documents.)
(3) actual interview (this just took a few minutes - he asked me about how I met my husband, when we plan to move to the USA, and what I plan to do when I arrive (ie: work?) and made me swear that the info I was giving him was true.)
