The experience at the US Consulate in Montreal was great. Everything is well organized, and even though there were a few people waiting, it did not take long at all to get called for the first time to provide the documents. Everyone was friendly and patient.
Here are all the steps I went through as well as a list of questions and documents that I needed. I brought way more than this, but that's all they wanted from me:
When you arrive at the consulate:
- Don’t bring a backpack, only a binder with your documents
- The receptionist checks the passport and confirms the appointment, then gives two tickets with the same number
- Jackets, binder, phone, watch (everything) gets scanned like they would at the airport
- You walk through a scanner as well
- Phone, keys, and the watch stay behind in a little locker
- You take the elevator to the first floor and wait for them to call your number or for it to appear on ... read complete review

Went really quick, despite of Covid. I was lucky to get one of the earliest appointments in the morning. So I just had two people in front of me for the K1 visa.

Everybody was extremly friendly and accommodating. I was first very nervous but was so much more relaxed after the security check. The staff was just so friendly and was making a lot of jokes.
The people in front of me had their phones on them and
were only asked to completly turn them off. Same for smart watches and tablets. And did not have electronics on me, but it seems like it would not have been a problem.
I had my appointment at 9 a.m. I arrived at 8:20 am and went around the block because I was so nervous. The line was already quite long the first time I arrived and got even longer when I calmed down and came back around 8:40 . It was pretty cold, so I kind of wished to have gotten in the line earlier. It didn't seem like the actual appointment time was important or that
people stuck to the "coming only15min in advance "rule. I'm not even
sure If that was still required. I highly recommend talking to the people in line with you. It was a nice... read complete review

Very pleasant and efficient. They asked only a few questions and I was out of there in 45 minutes, which includes the 35 minute wait time.

I had a very good experience at the US consulate in Frankfurt. My appointment was at 07:30, I reached there at 7:15 but there were already some people waiting on the line ( mainly nonimmigrant Visa applicants). I was admitted at 07:25 to the consulate, I had no electronics with me which made the entrance much easier.
I went to the first window where I submitted my photo, my delivery confirmation and immigration fees. Then I sat down and was called to the next window where I submitted my birth certificate, marriage certificate and new police certificate. I was told to sit down and wait to be called for the interview, which was the longest wait ever.
Finally at around 09:15 my number appeared on the screen and I was called for the interview. It lasted almost 10 minutes. The officer was nice and polite. He asked me regular questions like
-how and when did you meet your husband?
-what does your husband do?
-where does he live?
-do you have chil... read complete review
