Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Getting straight to the point, the consular officer asked some basic questions.
How, when and where did you meet? He sent me away from the window and asked my husband then he called me back and sent my husband away and asked me the same exact questions. Then he called my husband back and asked several questions about his PCC. He then said all of our documents are in order but he wanted to look more into the PCC. He gave back all our original documents except for the PCC. He also kept my husband's passport. He then gave my husband a white 221g which was in German language. I asked if they had one in English and he said they ran out of English ones. I then asked how long will it be for him to look into whatever he needed to check out. He said a couple of weeks. It is now going on one month and the only change I have seen is the date on CEAC. So according to that, his case has been touched last on May 20, 2021. If this takes too long I intend to have a Writ of Mandamus filed to g... read complete review

Review Topic: General Review

Hey y'all!

I've been looking at reviews from visajourney for a long time now and I've now decided to sign up and let anyone who's interested know how my process went.

My husband is a US Citizen and has already been back in the US for over a year. We filed for a CR-1 via USCIS Lockbox Arizona and started the process in September of 2020. I had my interview in Frankfurt on May 6th 2021 and my medical appointment also in Frankfurt on May 5th 2021.

About the medical:
I called them as soon as I received my interview appointment letter (April 13th 2021) and they said one day in advance is enough so they gave me an appointment for May 5th and I booked a hotel from May 4th-6th close to the Main Train Station in Frankfurt. I took the U-Bahn to get to the medical appointment it was pretty easy and quick, so I was there more than an hour early I think so I was just walking up and down the streets lol. I was pretty nervous but there is absolute... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

I talked to a very friendly officer and did not feel intimidated or scared at all. The interview itself took around 5 minutes. They asked the standard questions.
Medical results were not available on time so the Visa is not approved yet. I was in and out the consulate within 1 hour, which was very fast but I also had the first available appointment at 7:45.

Review Topic: Direct Consular Filing

Come early, about 45 min before your appointment. Leave all electronics in your car. First queue at the entrance to the left to get a waiting number. Then queue at the security guard to the right to confirm that you don't have any electronics. Then queue at the security check entrance. Once you're inside queue for the cashiers' booth 22. You'll pay 325USD (or 277EUR on that day -- which was 5EUR more than the exchange rate), also they don't take EC/Giro cards!

After that you'll be called upon twice, either by number OR by name, so don't rely on the monitors, it might happen that your number isn't shown! First time is basic personal information check, if address is current etc. Second time is the interview with the consular officer. You'll first be sworn in, then you'll be asked questions depending on your case. All in the all, the entire process from entering the Consulate to leaving took about 90 minutes.

Everyone was courteous, and all-in-all a routine, ... read complete review
