I was asked to show up at 1pm at the consulate rue Saint Florentin, but it's closed as it is being renovated; a guy there told me to go to the embassy: it's not too far away on the place de la Concorde.
It wasn't much of a hassle, but it was a bit annoying to have wrong information.
The interview process was pretty smooth. Just like everyone else here, I met with 3 different people and was done in a little under an hour and a half.
The consul told me I'd get my visa within 10 days.
I sensed a small tension when they noticed my fiance was a student, but that might just be my mind sending me wrong signals...
On to the next step, now!

Interview went perfectly fine! I got there at 1pm, got a ticket and started waiting. After 20 mins I got called to a window, the lady took my ticket and my appointment letter. After 10 mins, another window and the lady took all my documents and fingerprints, she was very nice. They both talked to me in French.
I had to wait again for 30 mins. The last lady was the Consul officer and spoke English. She was friendly, made me sign 2 documents, ask me how Brandon and I met, when do we plan on getting married, what does he do and what do I do for a living. That was it! She said "everything is ok, you'll received your passport in 10 days".

Was a great experience!
I was at first really stressed about it since I got the appointment letter on a saturday for an appointment on the next wednesday, so I had to prepare my trip to paris, get days off work, buy tickets....
But, I can say that at the embassy, even if everything is impersonnal, it went fine.
I was first called at a window to give my ticket number and my appointment letter, than call again at an other window to do paperwork, giving the filled forms, signing some, giving the envelopp, taking the fingerprints...
And last time I was called, at the consular officer window, who asked my if I prefered english or french, and since I said that I did not care, we spoke in english. After some simple questions about how I met Mark, she just told me "your visa is approved, congratulations"!!!
the next saturday I got my passport back in the mail with the visa inside!

When we arrived at the embassy it was something like 12:40.
The guard at the entrance asked us to wait a few cause it was too soon.
After 2 mn as it was rainy, windy and cold, he said.
My co-workers will ask if you can enter inside right know cause you're with a young girl.
SO. We was able to enter 2 mn after that.
The guards who was looking the bags was really nice and they was joking with my daugther.
Inside the embassy we got our waiting ticket, number A103.
I was checking the panel all the time but for 2 mn was not checking cause I was taking care about my daugther and i saw on the panel number A104, and after that A105, and A106... Richard get another ticket at the machine A107. And we was call at the first window.
The lady was really nice and just asked for the appointment letter and if we had all the required documents. I answered yes. And she asked us to go back to wait.
