Longue attente, fraicheur de l'accueil, impression d'etre dans un bureau de poste...
Ont m'a demande de refaire mon passeport car la photo presentait soi-disant des risques de falsification...
2 semaines de perdues, mais bon, a la fin tout est bien qui fini bien, j'ai eu mon visa.

I spent a night in Paris as I had my medical the morning before, with Dr Slattery, whom I recommend.
I had my interview planned at 1pm and arrived around 12:40 but waited for 5 minutes before going in. I remembered from an old J-1 visa appointment that I had tried to be early but the police were not happy and had asked me to go back to the other side of the street so this time I asked the guy and he said it's fine. Then the security officer who checked my passport asked me why I was here and started joking. His colleagues took my cellphone and my hand sanitizer and I had to surrender a bottle of water and an apple.
A lady was seated at some sort of odd entrance desk and was distributing tickets with your calling number. I was the second person with an A-starting number (the immigrant ones) so I was quickly called to the 1st booth. My husband gave me the short hand as he was hopping on the metro...
He arrived with a duffle bag because he was leaving paris immediately after the interview. They will not store luggage for you so he had to walk 2 km to the nearest hotel and pay 5 Euro so they could store his luggage. He didn't give me the time frame of how long it took. He said that he gave the birth certificate, marriage certificate, and casier judiciare. After for his "interview" the American woman (who he said laughed a lot) asked him where we met, where I work, where my grandma works (we're young and that's our co-sponsor), where he works, where his parents work, and where will we live when he gets to the US. He had a black eye and she didn't mention it. He said sorry it's from rugby and she laughed and said she thought it was from a fight. She spoke French the whole time. At the end he asked if he got the visa and she said yes it'll arrive the following Tuesday or Wednesday.

Excellent ! All was processed in less than 1h30 !! The lady that collect the documents was very focused at reviewing the documents, very professional, friendly and blazzing fast. That was outstanding to me ! Yes, a governement administration can work fast, be focused and accurate and efficient all at the same time !! (That's something I've never seen and you will never see with French administration).
The consul was a guy, ask me 3 questions (where your fiancée is living ? where did you meet ? Where will you get married ?). He was friendly and told me right away the visa is approved and I will receive it in about 5 days.
Note that they never talked to me in English, not even the consul... I was surprised about that.
After 6 years of relationship we, my fiancée and I, can NOW plan the wedding !!!!! Sweet :-)

Went there early, too early. They don't let you get in until 25 minutes prior to your interview, i.e. around 12:35pm in Paris.
Got a ticket for IV, and waited around 45 minutes for my number to be called (i.e. 15 minutes after my appointment time).
First did paperwork processing (gave them updated evidence of financial support, updated pictures, updated police certificate and birth certificate). The lady was very kind and helpful. My Chronopost envelope was too small (they need a 2Kg for IR1-CR1 as they send the entire packet), but luckily enough, another applicant had a envelope that was too big right after me, so she called me and offered to switch envelopes to expedite the process (instead of having to come back to drop off another one).
Then waited another 15 minutes to speak to the consular officer. Asked me basic questions about where I met my wife, what I had done over the past year and what I was planning on doing in the US. Then made me sign part II of ... read complete review
