Everything at the embassy went smoothly. My appointment was at 8:45, you have to get there 15 minutes before, went through security then was asked for my police certificate, DS-160, passport and birth certificate, I was given those back to give to the person inside. Once inside went up to a desk where the person asked for the updated letter of intent to marry from my US fiancé and my visa format pictures (as well as the documents I was previously asked for), confirmed my identity (name, address, phone number, email etc same for my fiancé's information), took my fingerprints; this was the longest part, he then told me to wait for my number to be called for the interview.
A couple of minutes later my number was called, I went up to a second desk where the person asked my fiancé's name, occupation, how long we'd known each other, if he'd been to France, if we'd lived together, how we communicate and that's it, told me my visa was approved and I should receive it in 2 week... read complete review

Great Embassy in Bern, not much people I was almost alone the day i went on my interview!
Reactive on emails, and once they received our application i got an appointment within 6 DAYS pretty crazy….
I switch from Paris to Bern to go faster so feel free to try European folks!
The embassy switch took 6 weeks though…No delivery for passeport you gonna have to pick it up yourself if you dont have an address in Switzerland.
Otherwise amazing experience with this embassy 10/10

The petitioner (Matt) was told he did not need to be at the interview, and that only the beneficiary (Melanie) needed to come. However, it's a darn good thing that Matt came, because literally all of the questions (except for one) were directed towards him! The only question the officer asked Melanie was, "how did you two meet?" She was able to reply with a single word before the officer cut her off and said, "that's fine, thank you." Every other question was directed towards Matt. Questions about Matt's finances, Matt's employment, Matt's taxes, etc. Questions that would have been very difficult for Melanie to answer.
First off, the officer told us when we arrived at the window that we needed two passport-style photos. Both the email we had received from the embassy confirming the interview, plus the embassy website both stated that only one photo was necessary. So one was all we brought. When we explained this to the officer, they didn't seem to care, and simply repeat... read complete review
