Thank God my wife's interview was successful today in Addis Ababa. Thank you to everyone that helped us along the way. Our case only took 10 months from start to finish.

It took me 30 minutes to arrange my document with their stuff and pass through security. After another 30 minutes My name was called and the guy behind a window asked me if I ever lived outside of my country for more than a year. Then I sat down and waited for the final interview. A super nice officer asked me where I met my wife, Where the wedding was, How offen she visited and he also asked I have a child and he was happy when I told him my wife gave birth 12 hours prior to the interview. He immediately approved my petition and instructed me to collect the visa in a week time from dhl. My overall experience was delightful 😀

Interview was great but in the end of the interview I was told to wait for 90 day to see whats going to happens with the new travel ban tacking effect the next day however with God's will and the good American people the EO was restrained and I received a phone call from the embassy to come drop off the passport and I did I was told next week to go and receive.

My fiancee arrived at the embassy at 1130 even though her appointment was at 1300. They did not allow her to enter and said to come back at 1230. After going inside, she was able to observe the other parties that were getting interviewed. Some were denied and some were approved. One trend she noted was that the ones that were denied seemed very nervous. Some were so nervous that they were visibly shaking.

For our interview, we went over the 70 questions that are posted on this website. We also went over my past marriage since I knew that would be an issue during the interview. The man that interviewed her was a middle aged white man and he was very friendly. That made her relax a bit and they did smile a few times. He did ask a lot of questions about my past. He asked:

My kids names
My Ex wife's name
My Ex wife's ethnicity
My original marriage date
My divorce date
How did we meet
How did we communicate
