The CO was very polite and to the point. I attended the interview with my fiance and he actually ended up interviewing me. I think he only asked my fiance 1 question. (Have you met her family yet?) The CO asked questions and ended up awnsering himself before we had a chance to say anything. I was under the impression that these cases are most definitly determined before the interview. At last, he told us to have a happy marriage and we should be able to have our wedding within 2-3 months. Overall, the interview went well. Just be prepared to wait...we waited for 5 hours and there were still many waiting after us.

The Cairo Embassy is extremely unfriendly and slow in processing Visas. Initially, they sent my fiance his paperwork package without any of the forms. It took him an additional 2 weeks and several trips/phone calls to the embassy to retrieve the forms. During his interview on March 25, the consular was rude and abrupt.
Since this time, they have refused to provide any type of useful information regarding this case, other than their standard response. They even refused to provide additional information to my congressman's inquiry. It has now been 14 months since I filed my original petition, 12 months since our papers have been in the hands of the Cairo Embassy, and we are still waiting!!

This consulate took longer to get me the Packet 3 then the USCIS took to issue NOA2. I don't know what's going on with the Cairo consulate, but they take forever on some cases, and act quickly on others. Inshalla the rest of the process will go smoothly

My fiance had his interview on May 23rd. The officer that interviewed him was not rude, but only very direct and to the point. The officer did not ask to see pictures or any proof at all of my 2nd visit to Egypt. After the interview was complete, the officer told my fiance that the interview was over, and gave him a paper with Administrative Process marked, and Passport marked. The officer also told him "We will contact you in 1-2 months" Well, that was about 5 months ago. After several inquires by email to the embassy, the lastest which came a few weeks ago stated only that "The case is still pending the officer’s final review. We will process the case to conclusion once that has been completed."
We still haven't heard anything. Over all, I can only say that the embassy's process is slow.

American side was something out of a horror movie. Didn't realize anyone could scream at a person that loud thru the glass without passing out. Personally I don't like to be yelled at BY ANYONE, let alone by my consulate in MY AMERICAN EMBASSY. I think she was having the worst bad hair day!! But she did give me my notarization for marriage. Petition interview was so nice and calm. CO was very professional, nice, asked important questions of myself and my husband. This experience re-newed my faith in the embassy until my husband had his visa interview. Well, the rest of the story is an adventure that we certainly don't want to experience again. We still have faith in our embassy and know we will be granted a visa soon. The process has been a learning experience and opened our eyes to how immigration procedures are. Until now it hasn't been the best experience but we are hoping it will be soon.
