I got there at about 7 am, gurad looked at my invitation letter, they took my phone, scanned my body, and gave me 2 numbers, I was called the first time to submit my birth certificate and passport to an Egyptian woman who asked me a few questions:
- How did you meet your fiance?
- For how long have you been together?
- Was he married before?
- Did you have an official engagement at church?
then told me to sit down and wait again, 30 minutes later an American woman took my biometrics and told me to wait again for my interview.
My name was called again for the last time, 2 men were there, I think one is a trainee since he just watched, the man who interviewed me was in his 30es, married, and very funny.
He started with 'Hey, Goodmorning!, can you please show me the DHL and bank receipt? (I kept looking through my huge bag, and I was like sorry it's just so small, and he was like oh yea it's pretty small, it's okay take your time! I... read complete review

Interview went ok... We did it together, I made sure to come to the interview because I thought it would help our case and also so I could support him.
We were aware of the change in price of the visa but were unaware that we would be paying the difference of 219 dollars... and we did not have the money... so Ahmed had to run out of the embassy and find an atm. I sat waiting nervously while they continued to call our number for biometrics, and I had to tell the lady that he ran out for a bit... so I think we got shuffled to the end of the list and had to wait forever once he did get back.
Finally when we were called, We were interviewed by a man in about his 30's I would guess. He was unemotional, and very quiet as he looked through our papers and as we answered which made me so nervous because I couldn't tell what he was thinking about our answers. It was mostly general things like what dates I had visited, how long and where I had stayed, Why had it taken so l... read complete review

My fiancee had a K1 interview on Monday, May 17, 2010 at 7:30am. First off, even though my fiancee and I are from other African country, I am the US citizen and she lives and goes to school in Cairo. I visited her in Cairo last October (my only visit to Cairo) and I do haver a mixed feeling about Cairo in general, but the CO in Cario is very very nice and very courteous to my fiancee. She greeted her nicely with a smile and made a lot of jokes with her. My fiancee had all the necessary paper works and evidences so the CO was indeed very impressed. My fiancee spent only about 1 hr all together at the consular and after visiting 2 windows and answered few basic questions, like when and where did you meet? How did you devolop your relationship? and what is the name of the website that you met? The CO asked my fiance to pay for the DHL and told her that her visa will be approved and mailed to her within 3 to 4 weeks. So all in all, my fiancee's experience at the Consular was great ... read complete review

Husband went to interview. Did well with the questions except one, he always gets january and june mixed up in english and when she asked our marriage date he said january, its june..... but at the end she told him she needs 2 things to finish the case, his CV and my marriage paper to my last ex husband????? He gave her his CV right then and she said ok, can you fix this paper for me... he asked what paper and she said the ex marriage paper and he asked her who and she said the last name of my last husband..... what is she asking for exactly? The marriage certificate, the divorce papers?? No idea, i emailed them asking exactly what they are wanting. They had the divorce papers already, i mailed all of that before... I dont understand.
The first interview was not bad but was AP. The american woman was very nice but mean egyptian lady got involved. Second interview was disaster, mean egyptian lady again involved with a very rude salt and pepper american man, they asked sam... read complete review
