My husband said the interview was very easy and the consulate was very kind (American women in her 30's)
My husband's number was called. The lady was rushing and said I need your passport and medical. She gave him some of my papers back (My tax transcripts from 2009 and 2008 and my cover letter for the packet.) Then told him to go pay DHL. At this point he was sure he was approved and he relaxed.

He went for his interview with a big smile he said. The consulate asked, how we met? When did I go there? For how long? Do I have kids? Where do I work? She asked about my divorce papers and he gave them to her. She said great and was pleased he had them with him. He said it was an easy and very friendly conversation and both were smiling for the duration of the interview. She said Congrats we approved your visa...and he asked about AP. She said no, you don't need it. You will have your visa in 10 days. Alhamdullah!

The appointment was at 8:30. I got there a little bit after 8:30 and got in right away. I kinda know the routine in there since I got 2 NIVs before. Unlike the NIV, they gave me a number and no one checked my papers neither took my passport. My number was 628 and they were processing 612 when I got in so I got to stay for at least half an hour. Once my number was called everything moved fast. An Egyptian lady first went through my file and got my medical report and my original documents. Then she told me to go and pay the fees. I didn't have enough in neither EGP nor USD. I had to go out of the embassy to exchange a 100 bucks, came back thru security again, paid the fees and just as I was paying the DHL my number got called by the CO. I left the DHL and went to the window as she asked for my DHL receipt, I told her that I was just paying it when she called my number. She said I can go pay it and she will call my number again. I did and waited for few minutes till she finished was 629. ... read complete review
