Review Topic: IR-2 Visa

Hi there VJ family.

Before my visa interview i searched this site for any info on my visa type,( i know most folks here are of the CR1/ K1 visa type) so you can imagine the frustration. I hope this review comes in handy 4 future IR2 visa applicants.

So got to the embassy at around 6;30a.m an hour before my appointment, there was a sizeable number of people already, we were told to stand opposite the embassy wall till 7;15a.m when we were called to queue; Non-immigrant visa applicants queue on the right side of the embassy gate while Immigrant Visa applicants queue on the left side of the gate. ( The IV queue is much shorter)

After a while a guy comes asks 4 the aramex paper, and cross-checks your appointment on a list that he has, Then you proceed to security, after that u get inside and get a number begining from 600 4 immigrant visa applicants.

After ur number appears on window 5 or 6, you present ur documents and medical ... read complete review

Review Topic: Other Experience

I don't know whether this is the right place to post my question, so if you may have any information please help.

I had my interview for an immigrant visa CR-1 at the US consulate in Cairo on July 12th, 2015. The interview went well, and the consular at the end told me Congratulations, took my passport, and told me I should receive it back within two (2) weeks.

Right now it has been already forty four (44) days since I had my interview, and I haven't recevied my passport yet. In addition, I have emailed the consulate so many times with no answer at all from their side.

Moreover, whenever I check my case on the NVC case status website, it says READY, and READY means that I have been scheduled an interview but didn't attend it yet. Also, most probably it isn't Administrative processing since the consular took my passport already and didn't mention that I am going to be under Admin Processing because he shouldn't keep my passport for that long... read complete review

Review Topic: General Review

My husband did not have a good experience at the Cairo Embassy. The CO he interviewed with was a man. He was not nice to my husband and questioned him excessively and repeatedly asking several questions over and over. My husband felt like the guy was intentionally trying to get him to fight and was trying to find any excuse to deny a visa.

Some questions asked where how did you meet, how old are my children, what is my bosses name, what kind of car do I drive, why was he never married before, did we stay together in haram in Cairo (that question he asked at least 8 times). They did not ask him about my divorce.

We are in administrative processing now. The CO wants to see more proof of our relationship. So we are required to provide more yahoo, skype, whatsapp, and viber messages, my passport entry and exit dates, any bills we share (which we don't share yet). So my word of advice is you can't over provide on the messages or relationship proof.
