The embassy in Cairo has certainly pushed the limitations of ones patience. However, during the entire process they were helpful, responsive to my congress liaison, lawyer and myself. Most of the questions asked were generally answered quickly albeit very vaguely. The AP for our case took a total of 9 months and the case wait time since day one took almost 18 1/2 months. I like many USCs would like to see a far more transparent process both of the central agencies and their peripheries. I strongly believe this is not the fault of those at the embassy level but is the fault of vague laws, procedures, and processing produced/done via the central US government. All in all just be as prepared as possible: with even more evidence than required and make sure you're mentally prepared for what seems to be the inevitable AP! If you are lucky enough to avoid AP count your blessings!

My husband was called up to turn in all the papers he took to the interview, then he was finger printed, then swore that he was going to tell the truth. After that, he went into an interview room where a consulate was standing, waiting for him. Before he had a chance to sit down, the consulate told him he was approved and congratulations. He was smiling as he handed my husband the approval form and wished him the best. There was no interview, no questions. He just walked in the room and was instantly informed that he was approved. PRAISE GOD ALMIGHTY!

Husband went to interview at us embassy in cairo, Egypt.
had a very tough interview!
They said he must send more evidence of our marriage.
And to mail his passport along with the evidence.
He will send more evidence but it just hurts that they
gave him a really hard time like this and haven't given him
the visa. If they only knew all that we have really been through!!!
