The process took about three years from when my family member returned to Egypt. He was initially on a student visa in America but had to go back to Egypt due to the two-year requirement associated with the J-1 visa. I petitioned for my spouse to come back to the U.S., which cost about $3,000 for everything since I handled most of the paperwork myself.
The process was difficult, as I had to deal with many flights traveling back and forth to Egypt over those three years. In Feb of 2024, his case went into administrative processing and then turned into a refusal. However, after six months, the Egyptian embassy reached out to us to complete another health physical and requested that we send the Egyptian passport to the embassy in Cairo. This only took two weeks, and after we received notification of approval, my spouse was on a plane back to the U.S. via British Airways just two weeks later.

All my paperwork was perfect, with perfect everything,but he put me under Administrative process anyway without any valid reason..

Very easy. Husband was asked a few questions and for required paperwork at first window. Had interview with female officer. She asked a few questions m, but didn't really seem to want to hear the answers. Told him congratulations. Visa was issued next business day and picked up the following day.

Interview went very smoothly. First window they asked for required paperwork and a few questions. Next window my husband was asked a few more questions and told congratulations. Visa was issued 1 working day later and able to pick up the next day.

The embassy called the day before and move up to 7 AM arrived at the embassy at 6 AM interview was not until 11:30 AM. The interview was very short. They asked if we had met in person and how many times and we’re petitioner worked. Did not look at any of my documents and I was approved. They took said it will be about two weeks before it is mailed back.
