We arrived about 7:30am and there were already 70 other cases in front of us. We waited to deposit the documents. We saw a lot of people being sent back to fix something in their application or even sent to pay unpaid fees. The people who worked with us were polite and even nice. The first person told us he'd give us priority because we were with our 5 month old baby. Waiting is overwhelming we thought maybe it had passed 2-3 hours but by the time we went out it was just 8:40am. We're glad everything went well. No harrasment at all. The asked me about my trips to the US and if I was done with a program I was (for which I had the 2 years home residency requirement [j-1 visa]). The second guy asked us how me and my wife met and that was it.

So me, my fiancé and our baby arrived at 7:25 for an 8 o’clock appointment. There were about four lines outside in front of the embassy and many people already inside. We asked one of the representatives that were directing people which line is for our visa type (K1) and he directed us to one of the shortest lines. Note: Have passport, appointment letter, & Ds-160 Confirmation Page in hand at all times as they will ask for it during every step. Next, we passed security by entering a first building. There was another line for that too but everything moved swiftly from there. After security, you step outside to an outdoor, cafeteria-looking waiting area. It is organized into three sections based on the type of visa. We followed the line that was directly outside leading us to one of the representatives who then asked us for the appointment sheet. Were asked to take a seat in one of the rows on a set of benches and wait for our row to get called in order to get to the actual emb... read complete review

They say it is not a first come first go basis but it is. The soonest you get there the higher chances you have to finish on time. They work very fast, any delay is actually caused by the applicants for what’s i could see.

The interview was super fast. Me and my fiancé got there at 5 am and our interview was for 8 am. We were out at 8:10. Interview was a couple of questions. The interviewer asked my fiancé how we met all in Spanish and then he asked me the same question in English. He looked through our paperwork we submitted for the I-129f and then said we’re approved. I brought additional evidence and my affidavit of support and he asked for none of it.
