Review Topic: General Review

Our interview experience was much as others have stated. We arrived @ 5:30am to get in line. The people were divided in different lines based upon the interview times. We entered the embassy early because I am 4 months pregnant. I had stepped out of line; being nauseous from the humidity; the crowdedness. A police man noticed my condition; called for my boyfriend; moved us forward. I was relieved, but didn’t want to make others in line upset. I could not bring in a water bottle with me; had to put it in the trash; snacks that I brought were okay. Shortly after entering; we were called to window 17 to give them Alex’s papers. We received our number; waited for the next step. We were spoiled being called so early to the first window as it was much later to be called to window 13 for the fingerprints. We thought it would be another hour before our interview. It sure was a long hour. People after us were called first. Don’t despair; the numbers are not called in order or the same ord... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

I arrived at 5:15 am, and there were about 100 people in line ahead of me, we finally made our way inside around 8:30 am, once inside it all moved fairly quickly, I am pretty sure that had I not attended she would have been denied, he asked her nothing, all the questions were for me. He asked how we met, how many times I had returned to visit, what hotels did I stay at in the DR, did she have family in the US, did I live alone, did she live alone, what do I do for a living. He asked to see my passport and photos only, although I had my tax returns with notarization bank and employment letters etc...he did not ask to see them. He said to her in Spanish "your visa is approved", and we were finished by 10 am.

I am pretty sure if I had not attended the interview, she would have been denied, he asked me all the questions, none to her. he asked how we met, my occupation, if I live alone or with others, if she had family in the US, he looked at my passport and my photos only, he did not want to see anything else, althought I had quite a bit of documentation, inclunding my tax return, bank and employment letters, birth certificate, he also asked if I was previously married,, which I was, but did did not ask for the divorce papers. The only thing he said her was visa approved in Spanish.

We got to the embassy at 5:15, and there were still at least one hundred people in line ahead of us. we finally got inside the embassy around 8:30 people must start arriving at 4 am to be allowed in at 6 am when they open the doors

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Let me see...where should i start? I believe the process was I expected. We got there at around 3am and there were people already on line. Their was some confusion as to what line K1 visas should stand but we were on the correct one which was against the wall. We made it in ....DON'T BRING A CELL PHONE OR ELECTRONIC DEVICE. That held everyone up. I don't remember if we were allowed food in the waiting area but we didn't take any. If you are allowed food, I advise that you take stuff to munch on. The cafeteria did not have the best food and the servers were a bit rude. My (now) husband and I stayed there until closing time...we were one of the last people to be interviewed. We were so tired and tired of the metal benches that we didn't even look that happy when he got approved. We just wanted to get out of there, get something to eat and go straight to bed. I would say that the only down parts were the food and that we were the last interviews. Other than that it went as expected.
