My fiancé had his interview two weeks ago at the American Office of Special Interests. Fortunately, I was able to join him.
The day before, we double-checked that all documentation was in order. I brought a copy of the petition, the affidavit with one year of taxes (which they asked for), my original birth certificate (which they didn't ask for), more photos and evidence. My fiancé had his official medical exam results, passport, ID card and the DS forms with extra copies. I suggest bringing extra copies of the passport-style photos, as my fiancé needed 3 in total. And, obviously, the fee (in CUC).
We started out as everyone else, waiting in the park. They called my fiancé's name, he gave his ID card, and we waited again. Some officials came by and picked up his passport and gave me a pass to join him. DON'T BRING ENVELOPES! They will go through every single one at security and take out the contents. Once inside, we waited to be received in a small roo... read complete review

I wasn't present at the interview, so this is second-hand info, from my fiancé.
He was asked a multitude of questions (aka grilled), from 4 different staff members. Example of questions asked:
(1) Why have you chosen to marry in the US vs here, in Cuba?
(2) What is your fiance's occupation?
(3) What is her son's name? When is his birthday?
(4) Have you met/spoken to her parents?
(5) How many times has she visited you?
(6) where/when did you meet?
(7) Do you plan to marry within 90 days?
Also, his resulting interview was under "administrative review" & he was asked to return because his Police Record had just expired, so I caution against retrieving it too early. So, he obtained a new report within 2 days. Other than that, all the relationship evidence & docs were in order.
Visa was not immediately issued, but they kept his passport and asked that he return in 2 weeks for the visa. Al... read complete review

I wasn't there but my fiancé told me that he went in at 9 and at 10:30 he was out. They asked him the normal questions. How we met? How we kept in contact? Asked about my children and where I worked. I advise everyone not only to bring pictures, but phone and text records. He didn't take any phone records so they gave him a pass to come back. I immediately emailed him the phone records and we went back around 1 pm and they told him he could get his visa in a week! Thank you God for the finally getting us here. I can breathe now! Thank you VJ for all of the information

Everything is pretty much well described by others...
Go to the crowded park (well before you would naturally wake up), wait for name/number, get in line, wait, fill out form while in line, wait, enter USINT, wait some more, go to an "interview" window for them to take VERY FEW PAPERS/EVIDENCE (I suggest you FORCE FEED it at this window...If they don't want it...make them take it anyway), wait breifly to be allowed to pay fees, pay fees, wait some more, get finger prints, wait some more...then THE INTERVIEW.
We walked up together for the interview, and they said that was great, but told me to go take a seat for a while. They asked my (now) wife pretty basic questions, and asked who is who in photos...then they called me up to the window and asked basic questions, and who/where is this photo taken. It wasn't too hard to pass the interview, but we were "approved pending other information". I had the information right there at the interview window, but the ... read complete review

I went to Cuba to be with my fiance for his interview. On date of interview, Oct. 18, we arrived at the corner near Special Interest Section at 7 a.m. We waited about 15 minutes before names were called for the Cuban citizens to bring their carnet de identificación and receive their number in line. Julio was number 104. Then we stood in line, in number order, for over two hours. Finally, we arrived at the "gate" where the guards call out the Cuban's # and ask for U.S. Citizen's passport and sent us separately down the sidewalk to the gate into the building. We waited about 10 minutes at this gate, as they let each couple or family group in ahead of us. First we went to the Security Department, where Julio needed to leave his cell phone and I needed to take some of our photos out that were in envelopes and throw away the envelopes. I didn't have a bag, so nothing needed to be inspected. Then we went to the Department of Review/Revision of Documents. The lady who attended us was ... read complete review
