My experience was great. The embassy received my case October 24th and I scanned them all my documents to speed up the process. The next day they told me they could schedule an interview on the 29th and I could do an expedited medical the day before. I was scheduled at 11 AM at the embassy.I arrived a bit early but was let in to go through security and get biometrics done and pay the fee. I waited a bit while the tourist visa people got done with their interviews and eventually was called to window 1 to speak to the consul. He was a younger guy , blondish w glasses, and was very friendly and nice. He asked the very basic questions, how did u meet, how long have you been together, occupations, have you met his family, what are you plans for the wedding etc., all very casual and normal questions. I was done in 10 minutes. The next day I was able to pick up my visa. I noticed that at the same time there was another consul, a younger woman, talking to the tourist visa applicants and I over... read complete review

Went with my Fiance to the interview in Zagreb. The guards were friendly, we were 20 mins. early to interview. We had actually had to email for an appointment as we had not received any appointment date for interview after sending in our packet 3. We waited a half hour to be called into an interview room. The interviewer was nice and asked both of us questions together in the beginning then sent me out of the room to ask my fiance questions, then vice versa. The line of questioning was rather personal and out of the ordinary of what I have seen on here and lasted an hour and half. At the end of the interview he said that it needed administrative processing and we would be contacted the following week with a phone call. To our amazement we didn't receive a phone call but a packet that came in the mail with my fiances Visa and envelope to give upon entering the U.S. We are both extremely happy! It has been a long journey. We both wish everyone well with getting theirs.

I am the American fiance so my review is only accurate through what I heard from my fiance. Everyone at the consulate was very nice, although they recognized our case because I had emailed them so many times (it was only 3-4 times but they were making fun of me for being a little obsessive! HA! they also made fun of me for all the stuff i told my fiance to bring - thanks a lot, visa journey!). We did have a slight scare that turned out to be nothing, so take this information in prior to your own interview - after my fiance's arrival at the consulate, they spoke to him for a few minutes and then asked him to leave and come back in an hour or so because they needed to review our file. Obviously we have never read/heard about this happening in the past to anyone so we were freaking out a little bit! And I thought for sure we were going to have an application review or whatever it is called where it can take months to be approved. He left and went to a coffee bar for a while..When he ... read complete review

I came prepared with lots of evidence: car rentals, hotel rentals, receipts with both of our names on it during our entire relationship and during his visit after filling for visa. The consul really wasnt all that nice, and I had to assume it was due to the fact we were an interracial couple. I had to motion and mention to each and every paper that proved my then fiance presence in our country and that our relationship is for real. He kept asking me question from my skype logs and questions like - Where did you two live together? How many square meters was the apartment? (????wth) Since we met on a military base, he wasnt familiar that civilians may enter and that the base is like a small town with bars, restaurants etc, so he was surprised we met there. Then he asked me questions about his military position and how come he was working as a postal clerk on the base if he is military. ( Again, not fimiliar with military procedures etc.) It went on and on and on. Finally, the nice Croati... read complete review
