took about 5 minutes to go through security. waited about 15 minutes in waiting area. no lines.

1st part, about 30 minutes of sorting papers and checking paperwork, submitted additional documents and evidence.

waited about 20 minutes to be called for interview.

2nd part, interview was about 5 minutes, I stood at the window with my wife and kids, man asked my wife a few questions, my son 1 question and me 1 question. super easy and relaxed. did not want any chat logs or other evidence besides photos. Interviewer told us we should have the passports back with visas in about a week.

Writing this late but better late than never!

We had an easy time for my husband's fiance visa interview. I flew to San Jose for a long weekend, and attended the interview. They let me in no questions, no problems. We were first interviewed by a younger and friendly woman, who looked through most of the paperwork, ordered it the way she needed, and interviews us in a very relaxed manner, it seemed like chit chat with some direct questions mixed in (the "chit chat" is part of the interview, and she was good at getting information without sounding formal or like she was grilling us).

We always confuse bilingual people when we talk because we both understand English/Spanish perfectly (or close to perfectly) but only speak at a high intermediate (him) to low intermediate (me) level. We tend to speak Spanglish together, or sometimes each just speak our own mother tongue at each other--one conversation, two different languages. Bilingual folks can keep up, they... read complete review

Super fast and easy interview. Our interview was at 12:15 pm. We recently sold our car so we got an uber and arrive at embassy at around 11:45 a.m. No one was allowed until 12 so we waited outside. If it is rainy season, either arrive just on time or take an umbrella because there is no roof to keep you dry while outside.

We went through security where one of the dumb officers there told us to open our medical envelope because according to him everything has to be opened. He then he got yelled at because the medical results have to be sealed. Note to self: listen to your intuition first, I asked him multiple times if he was sure because I knew that we could not open the documents. They just stapled it back closed and it didn't affect us in any way.

After you pass security, you have to get a G number and go to the door where the interviews are done. There is no one there guiding you so make sure to ask. Because tickets are given as people arrive and not ... read complete review

The interview went very well and the k1 visa was approved. The officer was very nice and they ended up making small talk for almost a half hour after the interview was over.

Our experience at the consulate was great! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The whole process took about an hour and a half. The man who first took our documents and called us up just asked us questions about our relationship and asked for our additional proof of relationship and the rest of our documents. We then sat back down and waited about 5-10 mins then the officer called us up for our interview. My fiancé was asked about our wedding plans, about what my parents and sister do for a living, asked what college I go to and what I study. He was also asked where he would be living and if he wants to come to the US and marry me.I am so glad this consulate had very nice people. The experience alone is already stressful and we did not want to deal with rude people! Thankfully we didn't!
We were also told documents MUST BE TRANSLATED for the interview.
