As I was asked, I will tell about my fiance's (and children) experience at the embassy at Bogota. They went to Bogota a week early because of the vaccinations and medical exams. Also she needed to obtain a police report and her son's school transcripts since he was recently graduated from high school. Her interview was about 45 minutes long. I couldn't attend do to my work requirements. She said the woman quizzed her very much about my family, my 4 sisters in particular, and very keen on my son's upcoming marriage, (apparently they do their homework and must have checked out my son's FB account. How else would they have known?). Many of the questions were regarding my sister's names and their status, (two are dead). They asked about who I work for and what is my job. They asked how long I was a HAZMAT tech and certified firefighter, (government certificates). So they were thorough about me. They asked her son what he wanted to do when he came to the US. His intent is to join the Navy ... read complete review

My girlfriend had her interview 7/8/19. What I'll share are the changes from I seen from previous interviews. First, the interview lasted nearly an hour. During the course of the interview she had to unlock and hand over her phone for inspection. The consulate officer looked through all her whatsapp message and questioned her about who each person was. They also looked through her social media apps and photos (FB and instagram). They asked her all the standard personal questions more than once by rephrasing the same questions. She brought a scrap book of pictures and receipts all of which was looked over. Our only problem was that they wanted her original birth certificate and a certified copy of my divorce papers. Otherwise, she was approved pending their receipt of these papers.
Side note assuming she arrrives here in two weeks, the whole process will have taken us 8 months.

I'll start off with the medical exam. My fiancee visited Dr. Jairo H. Roa about a week and a half to two weeks before our interview. Took her two days to complete the medical exam, sounded like it was pretty straight forward. She needed to get back to work and couldn't stay the third day so we were told we could pick up the results the day before our interview.
Here's where it got tricky. Our interview was scheduled Tuesday, June 25th, so we were going to pickup the medical results Monday, June 24th. What we didn't realize was it was a national holiday in Colombia (my fiancees work doesn't get off Colombian holidays so she didn't realize it until one of the employees at the hotel mentioned it to us) and that meant the medical office was closed. Our interview appointment was scheduled for 8:00 AM and they wouldn't open until 10:00 AM. Panicking that we wouldn't have the medical exam in time for the interview, we came up with an idea that we would call the receptionist at ... read complete review

We arrived early and were literally the first ones in line when the embassy opened. Our documents were checked twice; they did require a copy of my (US citizen fiance) 2018 taxes which luckily I brought along. They looked at my US birth certificate but then said I didn't need it and handed it back. I was allowed to approach the interview window with my fiance. The interview was extremely thorough, even though we had tons of relationship evidence (been together since 2015 and lived together since 2017). They asked my fiancé all types of very detailed questions about my job, my parents, etc. Basically every question that you see on any "K1 interview question" list, they asked. Of course, my fiance could answer them all with no problem, but I think those questions could be challenging for a couple that hasn't been together as long. By the end of the interview, the official was joking around with my fiance, talking about places he had to go visit in the US. Naturally, we thought we were... read complete review
