Review Topic: K1 Visa

Arrived at 6;45AM line #3, went through security to a larger building and to a corner where give a green folder to file papers in order. went to a window 33 and woman reviewed paper work and ask a few questions and said my birth certificate is missing and I did not bring a copy of it. Then we went to the other corner of building where we were called within 3 hours to window 4. The consultant asked me 10 questions and then called my fiancee to answer the same questions, must not like the answers because ask us to return at 3PM for another interview with another interviewer. Those questions were about 15-20 questions another 1.5 hours. APPROVAL YEA!!!

I'd like to share my experience with you and give you some advice....

Don't get there any earlier than 645am..- it does not make any difference… once you are inside, they will call you in random order – (one of the ladies there told me they call the elderly and families with children first)…. you are going to be there all morning (in our case…the consul finally interviewed us at 2pm)!!!

You don't have to bring the x-ray results to the embassy… you are going to be stuck with it all day!!! They already have the results from the exam when you turn in the envelope they provide you with.

Please, please!!! Wear warm clothes!!! Even though Bogotá is not that cold, after about 4-5 hours it'll get to you!

Anyway, we were asked to go to "punto 40" which is a little stand (not a window number) where they give you a green folder with a list of docs you need to put in the correct order, don't rush, they called us at 1130a... read complete review

Review Topic: General Review

1. K1: I met my husband in Bogota. No pictures together. No records of our phone conversations. He was 18 years older! (I was 21; he was 39 and never married). The day of the interview there were many k1 visa girls who got the visa denied because they did not have enough proof, pictures, etc. They were sad and crying. I was surprised. I knew my visa was going to be denied as well (and I did not care). I was inexperience and did not know anything. I did not know anything about the process, the questions, etc. The day of the interview I told the truth. I said I was going to the USA to know him better and to meet his family. I was surprised that the consul approved my visa, and told me that I had 3 months, and if I did not get married in those 3 months I h... read complete review
