Interview time was 7:15. Fiancee arrived about 6:30. Process was completed about 11:30 a.m. The room is like a large bank. The interview takes place while the fiancee is standing at one of the windows. The interviewer is behind plexiglass. My fiancee had a lot of documents to support our relationship. The interviewer (female) looked at: income tax, W2's, letter of employment and pictures. She looked closely at the pictures. None of our emails, call records, travel receipts were looked at - but one does not know what a particular interviewer might want to review.
The interviewer asked basic questions such as: Where finance works, what his job is, where he was born, names of siblings. My fiancee speaks English so the interview was in English.
My fiancee is one tough gal packed into 5' 1" so she was not bothered by any of it.
My fiancee had to wait 3 working days to get the visa and she had to pick it up at China Post which was... read complete review

My fiancee waited about 3 hours before getting to her interview, which lasted about 5 minutes.
VO asked:
-How we met.
-When did we become romantically involved.
-How many times we have seen each other and how long.
-What our occupations are.
and then he gave her the orange slip. Apparently orange is the new pink.

Not nearly as bad as the hype would have us believe, but I think said hype made us paranoid enough to be as well prepared as we could. We also had lots of evidence of our relationship front loaded with our initial petition package, so I think that helped make things easier.
My fiancee said the interviewing officer was very nice to her, and the interview itself was fast and easy, just a few simple questions, and she was approved.
We had a short delay getting the visa delivered. I enquired at the consulate about this, and they were actually honest with me, and told me her file got mixed up in a pile with some from the next day, and that they would finish her file and deliver within a few days.
Other than that, no problems.
