My husband applied IR1 visa DCF within China. The interview was set up in Guangzhou Consulate. The visa officer is a very nice guy. He didn't question me whole lot, if they don't change the counters, he is the No. 27 counter guy.

Wife received blue slip. Says I need co-sponser? Idiot at Guangzhou can't read a I-864 and tax returns. My retirement pay is more than double what is required. Why would I commit a crime with a fraudulant I-864? So now waiting for a reconsideration. I can't believe they hire such idiot's to work in the consulate. Also have my Senator's office involved now. I just returned to the states without her due to some problems that I had to be here to handle.

Very quick and easy.
Interviewer was a very polite and pleasant lady.
I was surprised it went so quick and easy, because I thought I had done a poor job of preloading the petition: 6 photos, some chats, a log of Skype calls that I had pulled together by hand (I'm a Linux user, and Skype for Linux shows the time and date only for the highlighted event in the call history), and hotel receipts/boarding passes/train tix for our first 2 visits together.
[In Chinese] Do you speak English (yes).
How did you meet?
Was your fiance already married?
Does your fiance have children?
Why hasn't he ever married before?
Did marry before?
Did you have children before?
[Chinese] Are you CCP?
Where does your fiance live?
[A short exchange about the weather in Minneapolis]
Where does his family live?
Congratulations, you passed. Good luck!

My fiancee's interview infomation was delivered on June 15. and her interview was the next day on June 16th, she was one of the last ones interviewed that day! She felt at ease, as the interviewer was nice and told her "don't worry I can speak Chinese" it only took ten to twenty mintues as we had all our paper work in order..."this is the key"! She got approved and we had to wait 5 days because of the weekend. Now we are off to the USA in about 10 days, we will get married soon and file for the AOS!

Our interview went well with the consulate. Most likely because we were prepared. Most of the documents my fiance brought were not needed but you never know. We had about 5 inches thick of paperwork, not including the photos. From personal items such as EOR letter, letters from all parents, family, friends, phone bills, internet communications, joint banking, langauge classes, etc. Then I had lots of financial documents, 3 years of tax returns, mortgage statements, etc. And with the pcitures we hand about 300 with us and family.
When it came to the questions they asked her the standard ones that I have read in the blogs on this site. We practiced for all these and she was ready to go. She did tell me the interview was short, about 5 minutes. And a couple VO's came over to say hi during the interview. I think being present, even though I was just downstairs, is important. They asked about this and I think this is a bonus.
My major complaints ab... read complete review
