On the day of document intake, my wife and I arrived at the Consulate about 45 minutes prior to the scheduled admission time. People were already lining up outside the building. Once applicants are admitted to the building, they go into the immigrant visa area and are given a number. I had made an appointment with American Citizen Services the same day as my wife's document intake day to have an updated EOR letter notarized. The original EOR letter I sent with the petition was 2.5 pages; however, IMO, for an EOR to be useful for your spouse to give to a CO to look over during an interview, it needs to be one page. Since the payment window was in the same room as where the IV applicants were waiting, I went back into this room and sat with my wife while she waited for her number to be called after I had the EOR letter notarized. She was sitting with some other people that she had gotten acquainted with in line. There did not appear to be any rhyme or reason to how the numbers wer... read complete review

I will attempt to tell you everything I remember from talking to Jie on the phone last night.
She said she arrived around 7:00am to the consulate and there were many people there. It made her nervous the day before for document turn-in, when she saw some people getting blue slips. Her number for the actual interview was right about the middle. She told me that when anyone came out with having passed their interview, everyone cheered and congratulated them. They were a very supportive group, as they were all there for the same reason.
When her number was called, she sat with a very pleasant American woman that made her feel very relaxed. She spoke Chinese to Jie for the first few questions:
1. Are you a CCP member?
2. Have you ever been a CCP member?
3. Do you speak English? (At this point the woman spoke in English since Jie does speak English.)
4. How did you and your fiance meet? ... read complete review

Typical first day of turning in our paperwork... It was very hot and we got there a bit early but it was not that long of a wait. In total about 4 hours the first day. The interview day dawned rainy and we decided to show up closer to the actual opening time. Still very crowded. To me it seemed like organized chaos but everyone got inside in about 30 minutes (K-1 visas near the end of the line). My fiancée was asked the following questions (in English which she chose):
Are you CCP?
Who is your petitioner?
Have you been to the US?
Which countries have you been to?
What for?
Is this your first marriage?
How many children does your fiancé have?
Do you want children?
What does your fiancé do?
Where did you learn your english?
When did you meet?
How many times did your fiancé visit you?
How long did he stay?
So overall, some very easy questions. The interview only las... read complete review

Interview at Consulate was smooth. If all paperwork is in order and organized, as we were, the process takes just over 1 1/2 hours. The interview was only 7-10 minutes with standard questions about how we met and as the interviewer requested, to "tell him our story". We did arrive at ^:30 and were first in line. We sat next to the elevator and moved to the rear so that we would be first off. Then went to the line for 14A/B.Our number was C1as we were first. After that you go to the windows as you are called and then back to the waiting area until called for the interview. Good luck to all VJers.
