The process was interesting to witness. I mean there was actually 4 Lines I never would of guessed that the Chinese could actually form a normal line. I almost took a picture of it for proof. lol
Anyway, document intake day was about 4 hours long. I suggest the milk tea if you wait in the little cafe.
Interview day was a lot longer. we arrived at 7am and there was already a long line of people waiting to get in.
Yuan was asked 4 questions
1. Are you CCP?
2. how did you meet your fiance?
3. when was your divorce?
4. was your fiance married before?
The only document they looked at was my passport. Yuan tried to show him pictures but he said no it was not needed. he had the pictures that we submitted with the original application. A very painless process. There was 5 woman from Yuan's QQ group and they all had no problems getting their visa's.
It was around 3:30 when Y... read complete review

One detail my fiance mentioned that I don't remember reading in other reviews was that they did a sort of group swearing-in before they started the interviews, having the interviewees promise to tell the truth. The interviewer's first question (asked in Chinese) was whether he had been sworn in. The rest of the interview questions were asked in English. They were, roughly:
-How did you meet your fiance?
-What was the name of the friend who introduced you?
-What was your fiance's job then? What is it now?
-What's your job? (my fiance explained he doesn't have a job yet; he just graduated from college last year. not a problem, apparently)
-Where is your fiance now?
The consular officer looked at our pictures. It sounded like he was quite friendly, and kept saying "no problem, no problem" after my fiance finished answering. Approved!
I really hate bureaucracy, but I have to admit the process went pretty smoothly, esp... read complete review

most of the questions he got was not related to our relationships, just one or two simple questions, such as "how did you meet each other?" and then he was being questioned for a long time about his major. He is a PHD student from a prestigious university in Beijing, and his major is very sensitive (falls into 221g categories). the VO didn't look at our photos, phone logs or boarding pass, he asked for his CV and asked several questions about his major and the projects he did before.
the whole interview was approximately 10 mins, and in the end he was given a blue slip saying"we cannot issue a K-1 visa at this time, your case needs further administrative processing" (221g slip)no additional material was needed for his case, the only thing we could do is wait.
as you can imagine, how depressed we both were after the interview, but the good news is he was not completely turned down for his K-1 visa, thank god, he got approved exactly one month after the interview. (us... read complete review

The interview took about 3 minutes. White Paper! YES!!!
My lady arrived with three binders of photos and evidence of relationship.
The consulate officer asked a few questions and spoke mostly in Mandarin but did not want to review the pictures etc. She replied to questions mostly using english and cracked a few funnies about me. The officer was very polite and friendly.
Questions asked:
Q1: Is your fiance here today?
A1: No, he changed jobs recently and could not have vacation (I had sent a notarized letter explaining this) He did not want to see it.
Q2: Does your fiance speak Mandarin?
A2: She answered -
I can say ShiShi and Bu. This got a good laugh...
Q3: Will your son follow you to the US? (Her son is 11 and lives with father)
A3: Not now - Chinese schools are very good and he is busy studying
Q4: Will your son come to the US later?
A4: He is welcome there anytime, it's his choice. M... read complete review
