Review Topic: K1 Visa

8:30 Appoint she arrived around 7:00. Line formed around 8:00.
Asked for everything on P4 checklist but relationship proofs.

Male CO asked three questions.
Fiancee "I can interview in English, if that is OK Sir"
CO (with a big smile) "I guess so, alright then"

1. Have you meet?
"Yes, he visited China three times, one of the trips lasted 6 months. We saw each other nearly everyday during those six months.
2. Why do you love him?
"He's the greatest guy in the world (or something, being Chinese she skipped much of the retelling of this answer)"
3. When do you plan to go to America?
"As soon as I get my visa, I have already booked a flight" (CO laughed).

CO - "You are approved, have a nice day"
"Thank you Sir, you do the same"
CO - "I'll try, thanks!"

She said she was treated with courtesy and respect by everyone she interacted with from check in, through docum... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Met up with another VJ member yesterday and the day before to exchange notes and review paperwork together. Also met up with several of the same QQ "Gang of 6" group members and my Fiancee found talking to them helpful in calming her nerves. 3 of them all passed earlier that day and explained to her that they didn't ask for much of all the paperwork that they and ourselves prepared. Caught several things I overlooked like the Telegraph code, adding Chinese to the DS-156. Really helpful to work with another VJ member if possible!
Interview went very well. Arrived just after 6:30am, already a line for the 7:30am appointments. Security organized the line around 7am, and they started letting them in around 7:40am.
Security formed our line for 8:30 appointments around 8am. Of course some ass Chinese guy cut in front of us in line when security organized it. If I knew Chinese I would of yelled at him, lol. We were still #3 and the fellow VJer and his ... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiance’s appointment was for 8:30 AM, August 6th. We arrived at the consulate at 6:30 AM, per recommendations we received the previous day from another approved K1 applicant (one of the QQ “Gang of 6” that helped us get our interview date). We were not the first ones there. About a dozen more people were already "hanging out", though no line was forming yet. At about 7 AM, the security guards began their work and formed 2 lines, one for 7:30 appointments and another for 8 AM appointments. They told everyone else to wait in another line just outside at the corner of the building near the entrance, just about 5 meters away. We and the other K1 couple were the first in that line. Looking all around, we found no other “couples”. There might have been other K1 applicants there, but their petitioner fiancés were not with them, so we could not identify them. Judging by the age of others waiting and the number of children, we decided we might have been the only K1 applicants ther... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Review done by my wife below, written from her perspective:

7:00 am Arrive consulate (Zhujiang New Town Subway Station Exit B1, an escalator out of the ground to go up, you can see the consulate building), there is a small building in front of the consulate entrance security screening, immigration interview on the building entrances far left, there are signs, where people lined up, it is easy to find. Because early, so many people are waiting in line at the entrance.
Around 7:20 interviews with security personnel out to remind people lined up waiting.

Special note: all electronic products such as mobile phones, watches, umbrellas, large bags, big bag, backpack, drinking water and so can not be brought into the consulate. The new consulate is not set on behalf of depository (no charge).

I had a little larger than A4 environmental bagged data without problems, but also to see someone holding a laptop bags and backpacks are rejected. In ... read complete review
