My husband was surprised at the number of people waiting in line, but with an 8:45 appt he was finished by around 2. I didn't get a lot of details, but I'm happy with the overall DCF experience, and posting this good review, since I see so many people upset about their significantly longer waiting times in the US.
I didn't get a list of questions asked, but they did talk a little about the financial situation of sponsorship and his future career.
The officer approved his visa and told him it might take 2 weeks (one to process the visa and one to mail to CITIC) to return the passport.
Thanks to all who helped and gave advice!

10,Oct.arrived consulate at 7:30am,went into it at 8:00am,checked p4 and appointment letter, pasted a label on the back of passport, it's about the information of CITIC bank you selected to pick up your passport.Went up stair to 3rd floor.Take a number, looking at the number on screen, sit in chair at A area waiting for sending forms and notary, after that sit in area B, waiting for interview. After 1 hour, saw my number and 16th window. The VO was a middle aged woman. Took finger prints and then swear signed 156k form. Talked in English, questions are How did you met each other? when? How many times he has visited you? Are you a CCP? Have your fiance married before met you? Did he have a child? What is she doing? What is she studying?Do you have children? How old are your children? VO told me you are approved! Give me a white paper! I was so excited and said Thank you very much, have a nice day! VO said, so to you! So relax and happy! I'm proud of my fiance did a good job on paper work.

Consulate would not allow me to attend interview with Fiance, despite being clearly listed on department of state website that i would be able to attend. This led to a misunderstanding which i could have resolved instantaneously had i been present. Fiance took my passport to interview and requested they page me to attend, the consular told her "that won't be necessary" and moved on quickly.
The first examiner, documents, did not recognize my tax return as it had a cover page on it(i file my taxes online and had included the summary pages on the front). She didn't take the time to look a few pages in and see that it was in fact a legitimate 1040A, despite my fiance's insistence. She marked the documents as missing the tax return and passed them onto the examiner. This examiner was a local.
The interviewer, american, took the document check at its word and did not look more deeply at the documents either, and again insisted that "this is not a tax r... read complete review

My fiance felt that the interview was very easy. She said that the VO only asked her (4) questions:
1. When did we meet?
2. Where was it?
3. Do you know his annual income?
4. Are you a member of the communist party?
